I've often wondered can someone tell me the difference between NFS:U2 and NFS:MW in the handling?

I see lots of people bandying around that "this rar that rar" etc with no real explanation.

Go on, enlighten me :)

nfsmw seem to be a little easier to control better responses etc

MW feels as tho any input you give be it accellerating/braking/steering it directly effects the car where as in UG2 the effect varies depending on what situation the car is in weather it be under/oversteering, the surface of the road your riding or the way the weight shifts in the car (yes weight shifting is in the physics engine).

Ug2 has the nicest balance of arcade and sim since porsche unleashed where as MW feels like its for children.

how that makes sense.

nail on head hit

How ever i still prefer most wanted because it chills me out and has cops.

I find that Most Wanted is easy to control but I think that brings fun to the game for me. It might just be that I tweak my cars to have high handling.

I have been toying with the idea of testing the theory between the two games. I will install NFSU2 over the weekend and put some thoughts on paper.

dont get me wrong for most wanted the last thing you want to be worrying about is traction control when being chased across state, but the problem with MW is it takes an idea (cop chases) and makes a ridiculously long game out of it and it becomes boring around black list 5-4

Did you not complete the Challenge Series yet in Most Wanted? That can be pretty fun and I find it quite hard on some races.

Cool, you'll have to post up your save game for us to see when you are finished :) I'm only about 85% complete in total so far.

The Lambo Gallardo that you win in MW is *THE* best car in the game IMO. It has the best balance of attributes and usually pulls away from all other cars on a straight run.

I also loved the last section.
"ALL OF THEM!!!" :D

Everything after 1 went arcade. There's no arguable difference in the handling.

Are you trying to restart an NFS clan Andy? :p

Unfortunately last time nostalgia gripped me by the neck and made me reinstall NFS1, I was sadly disappointed by just how dated it now is, even in SUPER VGA mode or whatever.

Fond memories of the guy down the road having it on his 3DO (only person I ever knew who got one), getting a car up to speed and then pulling the handbrake to get around a corner, expecting something like Daytona style action to occur. The car hit the wall hard :D

I don't mind arcade games .. I had good fun with the unlockable rocket car in NFS2 and pretty much trying to get the fastest possible lines. But I think any claims of realism in anything since is purely for marketing reasons to try and differentiate from other rivals (although there kinda are none any more, Test Drive died its death and Midtown Madness was pure cartoon mania).

Surely there are enough driving sim games out there, that you don't have to moan about nfs not being sim enough?
