<a href="http://www.gameon.co.uk" target="_blank">GameON</a> have changed their dates for their Gameon LAN event, previously due to be held over the same weekend as i8. A press statement on their site says:<blockquote>GameOn have over the past ten days been taking serious note of the general feeling within the gaming community.
Whilst GOLAN was not intentionally dated to coincide with I8, predetermined factors dictated that this situation unfortunately occurred.
With this in mind and to promote unity within the gaming community GameOn have been in talks with Multiplay regarding a suitable solution for all party's involved, including you, the gamers.
As a result of these talks, GameOn have taken the decision to move their event date from the August Bank Holiday weekend to Fri 5th/Sat 6th/Sun 7th October 2001.
Sorry to anyone this may cause an inconvenience to.</blockquote>It's good to see GameON taking into account the communities feelings about having to choose between two major LAN events over the same weekend.
