yup, and i cant reccomend it enough, its almost as good as the universay century stuff, just wish they'd release a perfect grade dendrobium but they wont as it'd be about 3 meters long (oops i went off on one ^_^*)

POWER EXTREME!

Even the cheapy Gundam model kits can prove to be extremly high quality if you can put in a bit of time with precision parts cutting and nice little paint job.
But that is one of the nicest models I've seen them put out.

Compare this to a cheapy kit and I believe gunsmith will hunt you down :P
Looking good, nice work!

I did say if you put in time :P
But the moulding and casting of cheapy model kits is... well cheap, feels cheap and looks cheap if you do nothing but unpack and stick together.
Perfect grades are generally a bigger scale and the individual pieces have better definetion.
You've just got to look at the legs to see that :P

the new high and master grades are getting better with each passing year. Still cant beat a perfect grade tho. now that ive finished this and Strike rouge im very tempted on getting a 1/60 Perfect Grade Gundam Mk-II ""AEUG""

and for anyone thinking what on earth are you on about
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gundam_Model
I havent bought a gundam model kit in the last 3 years I dont think. Last one being the Epyon which was probably MG.
Only just noticed recently that they had went ahead and produced and aired SEED.
Would love to own them all but space and cost issues. Will have to get myself
a PG model now that I have seen them though.

Greydeath, go to www.HLJ.com they have an entire section to gundam including all HG, MG and PG kits, a PG will set you back between 12,000 - 20,000 yen which works out roughly between 75 - 160 quid including shipping and customs -_-
Strike was about 90 quid in the end.

Looking at getting Wing Zero and its not going to be easy to get hold of the wings on it are just amazing for any model kit.

dude it advise in spending a little cash on a decent little airbrust, it'll help making smooth custom colours as well as leet shadowing, give me a shout if you want some advise on anything :)

Now seeing this thread has motivated me to go buy as many cheapy kits as possible first at my local FP before I get my hands on and royally screw up a £90+ kit.
I dont even know if my fingers still have it in them to paint a straight line, let alone some 700 pieces :O

Mmmm Airbrush ftw. Still the most sickly detailed models large scale ive seen have been Forge World. But that is pretty damned nice amazing build quality. With any model its worth putting in effort at construction stage as it makes life easier later. Especially sorting out joins and similar. Have friends who paint things straight from a packet and they look okay till you look close :D

I got one of these myself too, it's currently in bits waiting for some tools, paints, sandpaper and other tools to arrive. :)
I went for the 1/100 MasterGrade, Strike Freedom Gundam Full Burst.

The main choice being do I stick with the default paint job, or go custom, like this... http://f7.aaa.livedoor.jp/~mesarion/gallery/wsfm/wsfm.htm

holy thread revival batman!
i do prefer the alt myself but you'll need to be a dab hand with mixing to get colours like that, prime them with a medium grey and then give them a gentle buff with 1500 wetdry before going over them with white (note you wont get perfect white because of the grey undercoat, but thats not a bad thing as pure white is just OMFG bright) oh and use matt colours only, gloss looks ****
(edit)
looking at the extra pics for the alt im VERY tempted on getting it and trying that alt myself

HobbyLink Japan is just an awesome shop, got my 3 Max Factory Guyver figures from there.
I really should start my next kit now that my cutting mat and new design knife have arrived.
