mecurial with radience was just sick :(

erm, mercurial with manta style was worse.
each image with 18% full dmg reflect, it was the PAIN.

Bah, perhaps now everyone is beginning to understand why I often pick Centaur Warchief in AP if there are alot of opposing melee heros :)

Yeah, 2 or 3 Blade Mails, Treads, Heart, Satanic, Battle Fury make for a fun day.
We played 5 vs. pub a month or so back when they were all melee, so I suited up with 4k hit points and massive damage return, got pretty far ahead on levels too, and at one point ran into a 1v4 at their base tower and forced them all back to the fount :)

I've only been playing pub -arem since the update - got a 12/2 with Mercurial which is amazing for me. How exactly is Merc and Abby broken, and am I right in thinking that Bristleback no longer sucks? It's difficult to tell in singleplayer :P

with bristleback you have a new quill spray which aoe's everywhere at once rather than random spray for a while, but it stacks 30 damage with every extra hit you get (so it does 90 damage lvl4, next time 120, then 150 etc etc) then if you take 200 damage it auto fires, it can absolutely rape low health heroes early with it, it's sick. late game just by firing a random spray or goo activates warpath which increases move/attack nicely, paired with goo they are not getting away by themselves, and for the first time in ages i had a game with bristleback where i went 12-0, next game i had him roughly the same.
with abaddon they've just made him harder to kill, but he's like the opposite of omniknight now with almost the same abilities but varying effect, in respect: ranged target dam or ranged target heal but you take damage with death coil, shield is the same but they've combined frostmourne with mark of the abyss which means you hit/slow target then anything that hits it after you hit it first gets speed/attack increase, funniest bit is the fact that you can fire your ulti, shield yourself and then death coil to heal yourself if you really need to.

And the problem with Spectre (mecurial) was/is his ultimate.
It makes an image appear for each hero on the other team. This in itself is not a problem and the images are quickly killed, BUT because of Spectre's passive ability which causes aoe damage whenever any unit dies in range.
On a big push this causes a huge chain reaction, all the images die, then all the enemy creep die causing lots of damage to enemy heroes.
Some of that might be slightly incorrect, I haven't played the new spectre but that I believe is the basis of it.

the unit which kills the enemy gets the damage so the unless the hero attacks the unit to kill it, it won't take vengence damage, but i do believe it didn't work 100% this way in 6.33 hence the omfg fixing of all of merc in .33b (for the record i preffered old mercurial :))

Mercurial is *still* broken and almost unkillable with the right items...
