i have genuinly no idea of what its worth.. dont buy servers very often..
its more of a case that if the offer is more than its worth to me (as a test box, spare) then id probably sell...
might take a look on ebay or something to see what they might go for
How about £100 for the server?

But this isnt new.... better to hit "the bay" for a truer comparison.

Buy It Now for £545.
It does however have 2x cpus, 2 HDDs, 4gb of ram, and a raid card.
So your price is, at least, a reasonable first offer... albeit a little on the low side... but i would say not by much.

Even back in the summer of 03, when I ordered one for work, it cost around £1K - that was a single CPU version and 2 36gig SCSI HDs.

Jase, did you get it from dell or from a reseller ?
If you went dell direct, through a corp account they have a tendancy to knock like 20% off the price anyway.
Add to that, the RAID card was worth over £1k at the time... i think that price isnt far off of reality.
160 for server :P its an offer

Eventually had time to have a look at the poweredge 1600SC...
Got it up and running straight away. Infact i installed windows XP on it.. thinking i might use it as a workstation... but a tad pointless and a waste really.
Can also throw in another 73GB 10K SCSI drive if needed ...
can get pictures if anyone else wants

from dell
'Poweredge 1600SC has an embedded U320 SCSI controller included already'
it doesnt have the optional PERC RAID controller though.
based on the driver required for XP.. its a Logic Raid controller.
