Im with you Timmy .. I dont have one in particular. There are people I can admire, historic and present.

Present
My Father : for defining my values and how to live by them.

Historical , or biographical.

Marin Mersenne , and Galileo : For considering science irrespective of the politcal or social atmosphere of there era.

Benjamin Franklin: For comments and ideas that are timeless.

In life in general? Hmm, tricky, but I'd have to go with a fictional character. If you're going to hold up a template to aim for, it might as well be an impossibly perfect one.

As such... Constable Benton Fraser, RCMP. :)

I wholeheartedly agree.

If we were all a little more like Benton Fraser then the world would be a much better place

The guy who stood in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square in 1989.

very famous photo that, no one knows who the guy is all that they know is he held those tanks there for 2 hours whilst he ranted at them.

but it also shows the power of the indivdual as well :)

it also showed that although you can hold traffic at a stand still for 2hours eventually drivers get impatient and will run you down

Here - My Husband, although soon he wont be here - cos he's getting deployed, but really he gave me strength no other person has ever done. He shows me to be more positive, and to not give in to my fears...

There - My nan, because lets face it, she's a tough old bird :D She had cancer when my mum was 2, and then it came back about 9 years ago - they gave her six months to live, and she's still alive! Bless her, she's really an inspiration.
