The first WoWLAN also sees the first Azeroth Olympics taking place! The greatest sporting challenge known - where all races come together to compete in an arena of physical and mental agility.
The Olypmics will take place on Saturday and each event will only take up a maximum of 30 minutes, so you can dip in and out of it as you wish (and obviously if you don't want to take part, don't feel obliged!).
1st prize - bottle of champers
2nd prize - crate of beer
3rd prize - bottle of cava :p
Rules+Events
Choose ONE character to create that will take part in all of the events.
Characters should be created on Al Akir server so that we can manage the events + stop your lowbie lvl 1's getting into trouble!
The points for each event are as follows:
1st Thorium Medal 10 points
2nd Truesilver Medal 8 points
3rd Mithril Medal 6 points
4th Steel Medal 3 points
5th Iron Medal 2 points
6th Copper Medal 1 point
These points will be totalled at the end to decide who is the winner! Tie breaks will be settled with duels.
Events
Barefist Knuckle boxing (Level 1)
Duel to the death using only your fists in front of Orgrimmar (Simple). Oh and NO armour! (2pm)
Beggers Belief (Level 1) (2:30)
You are given 5 minutes to get to a location of your choosing.
After your 5 minutes is up you all have 30 minutes to beg as much money / items as you can.
After 30 mins sell everything you can and we will see who has the most money.
You are NOT allowed to ask friends if they are on that server - keep within the spirit of the game!
The Great Barrens Run (Level 1-5) (3pm)
Al Akir server (so create a level one char) (there is a valid reason why this is on this server)
You will all start at the bridge just from durotar
Elbonio, Wizzo, Wubster and Limi will be your tag points. We will be at 4 locations around the barrens
(see map) (Please dont ask the adjudicators to help you get to your next location)
You MUST visit them in Order, how you get there is up to you (eg - find hunters if you can with aspect of the pack etc)
This will be an epic run for anyone, you WILL no doubt die horribly more than once.
The reason we choose al akir is that we have some level 60 players on here that can clear the way to the start point and also the starting areas.
The End point to the race is "The Great Lift".
Players must now reach level 5 to progress (5pm)
THE RACE TO LEVEL 5
You must get to level 5, first back etc gets points, you must have an axe and have ONE copper to prove you can mine
Get to level 5 and obtain the mining skill and a pick axe (DO NOT MINE ANYTHING YET!)
Grab the Ore (Level 5) (6pm)
Simply grab as much ore as you possibly can, you have 30 mins
Hand into one of the event managers, we will keep records of what you have handed in. Please note that we only require ORE.
OMFG NOT fishing (Level 5) (6:30pm)
yes thats right, grab your pole, cast and get some fish. Each fish is worth ONE point, Rare Bigfish will gain additional bonuses.
This contest will be held on the coast near the Troll Village with a 30 min time limit.
The Final Push (Level 5+) (7pm)
You now have ONE hour to acquire as much wealth as possible, in any way possible EXCEPT twinking or getting friends/guildies to give you money.
If you are caught doing this you will forfeit ALL your points.
You are allowed to kill mobs for loot + farm instances.
For EACH whole gold you manage to get you will get 1 point
For EACH level you are you will get 2 points
for EACH green item you get you will get 3 points
ALL items and cash must be given to a event manager and we'll probably go and spend it all on strong alcoholic beverages for in game YEEHAA later on!
