Hello people,

After many problems with my ADSL provider my son has recommended Multiplay ADSL to me as he says multiplay is a no hassle service, were as Onetel are horrendous.

He told me to get a Mac code so I could migrate, I have rung Onetel and after a hour on the phone I eventually got a code (BBIP17865403\\EE05).

I proceeded to sign up and pay for the 512k multiplay service but when I enter the Mac code its says its invalid I have tried it numerous ways and so I gave up and proceeded with the order with out it.

Obviously multiplay will need the mac code so I will ring onetel again tomorrow but I need to know what one looks like so I don’t get messed around again.

Any help is appreciated as I not that internet savvy.

Try entering the MAC code without the "\\EE05". Or change it to "/EE05". Also, you sure you got the bit after the / correct?

If that doesn't work, and you've had ADSL for a long time (2+ years) you might need to get Onetel to contact BT to sort it out. Although the MAC system has been around a while now, if your ADSL was installed prior to it, sometimes wrong MAC codes are generated.

I personally suffered with this when I migrated from Nildram -> Eclipse. My migration to Multiplay from Eclipse, however, was fine.

Hi Nina,

I can see your order in the system - but (I would imagine due to the incorrect MAC code) it's been submitted as a new order and not a migration order and so has failed.

Your MAC code looks slightly invalid to me. MAC codes take the format BBIPxxxxxxxx/xxxxx - the code you were given has two slashes followed by a 4 digit code at the end instead of the one slash followed by 5 digits.

If you get in touch with One.Tel and ask them to confirm the code then re-submit the order from scratch on the website, you should have more luck.

I'll cancel your failed order for you to save confusion. If you have any probs, you can always give the Multiplay office a ring during office hours on 0845 868 1337 .

Thanks for posting. :)

Giles,
Multiplay.
