Moving To Multiplay DSL...

Been wanting to move to you guys ever since i27. Having a very bad problem with my ISP (Pipex Internet), theyre makin every excuse available to not give me my MAC Code.

Their latest Bs excuse was that they are waiting for BT to forward my MAC adr to Pipex....? i mean wtf, why would BT have my MAC code?

So...i got in touch with Ofcom, who've recently contacted Pipex on my behalf, and low and behold, my MAC code has appaeared out of the blue.

Was with pipex for over 3 years, and get treated like shi* for it.

Will be switching to Multiplay DSL on monday, and tbh, i cant frickin wait.

For any of you other guys having trouble getting your MAC code, get in touch with Ofcom. They kick some serious as$

BT provide your ISP with your MAC - it took 3 days for mine to come through recently ;)
From what I can gather, BT are rather snowed under atm!

I contacted BT. they told me that they do not give pipex my MAC code. The guy explained to me that sometimes when changing your phone number, they will request you to obtain a MAC code from your ISP.

And plus, i re-contacted Pipex, and told them of this new info BT had given to me. I was requested to ring back on monday, when my MAC code "definately" will be provided to me.

Wether BT got it wrong i dont know....but i took their word for it

well, i think you wre wrongly advised there!

Odd, when i phoned pipex back and told them of what the BT guy said, they said i was wrongly informed by pipex LOL and my MAC code will be given to me on monday.

BT Wholesale generate migration codes for the 'losing' ISPs lines on request (from the ISP).

The MAC codes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
