View Full Version : Attentio Troopers : MPUK Fitness Regime.

It has come to my attention that there are a number of attendees to MPUK events who bemoan their physical fitness yet continue to wallow in the wastes of online gaming when they could be lard-busting.

Suggestions have been made before for some sort of fitness programme, but they have always fallen by the way-side. However with the impending nice weather I propose we actually put into place some sort of MPUK fitness regime, whereby we can all indulge together in situps, press-ups, pull-ups, a quick jog and then a group shower afterwards.

Anyone up for this?

How about not giving people mains electricity, but making them use a pedal powered generator for their PC?

But there is a waiver for those " old gits " who are over the age of 30 years, which i just happen to pass on :D

Sorry Jase, you have been reading it wrong, due to the appaling state of the health service it is even more important for older people to remain fit and healthy. Therefore your advancing age means you have a much shorter period of time to get fit, and this means you will be reqiured to supply the power for one of the servers as well as your own pc :p .

Perhaps we could offer a discount at the i-series for people who pedal-power their PCs?

Maybe we could even introduce the 'Green Shirts' who get into the event for free, but must participate in 8 hour shifts in giant hamster cages to power the servers and switches?

Hell, this could be publicised as the greenest LAN ever (getting the green theme now?) - great PR!!!

But more seriously, anyone fancy a jog around the park/river each morning? Especially Jase, before the navy throw him out :)

well that depends on how you define "morning" afty m8... while i'm up for losing the lbs (before i look like thistle) I'm not what people describe as a "morning person" and as such waking me up at 6 and telling me to go for a run can provoke a nasty reaction... hence why i will never join the armed forces

Im the same Joe. You will never get me up for a run at any a time before 8:30, and then it is extremely rare. Infact im getting to that age in life were going for a jog has no appeal, and hence I shun it with great disdain.

So, sorry Afty, but im not going to be running with you. In the navy, its not a physically demanding job ( well mine isnt anyway :D ).

I thought all that exercise bending down for the soap was bloody strenuous!

Maybe it's easy for someone like yourself, who can jump in, pop and run inside 30 seconds, but some people do work hard in the navy. Very hard.

As for thr run, we will see if you are given the choice. :)

lol

I am a morning person as it happens, so I might be up for a run depends on far you're planning on going

100 metres is prolly about my limit

Or how about to maccies and back? :)

Well if anyone tries to get me up in the morning for a run, then they had better be a damn quick runner, for i will be after that b*st@rd.

that could be effective actually... everyone that wants to get fit can wind jase and wizzo up till they start chasing... not only will it get you fit, it'll get them fit too (plus it's a laugh)

/me starts running now

Would be happy to join your green team if it gets me into i8 for free! :D

Seriously, i do like to keep fit while it is still easy for me, so i will probably be joining you, though not for the communal form of showering.......

Legging it to Maccies and back sounds good, as it gets harder on the way back if you're loaded with the others' food and have a chance to "replace the lost calories"

So i'll end this with something i have always enjoyed in PE
/me challenges everyone to the bleep test!

I would volunteer for all aspects of this.
However, i am not a morning person, so you can sod off with your morning run skills.

i'm up for almost all aspects of this, except it is a policy of mine that the only group showers i get involved in are ones where the entirity of the group (excepting me) are attractive women all in need of some "hot cruiser lovin"
