This is probably just me being as dumb and stupid as usual, but, anyway.
I'm now using 2k on my computer and there is one annoying thing its doing. When i connect to the internet, the password its saved is my login password, not the one i use for the internet account. Everytime i connect i have to type the password in again, and it never saves it!
Anyone else had this problem and know how to solve it, if its solvable?

Try deleting that connection and redoing it. You get all sorts of wierdos happening on Win2k.
Also, check to make sure you havent got proxy enabled in IE.

The weird thing is, i've just re-installed the machine, it was doing it before, and is doing it still.

you must have misconfigured it somehow (although I cant see how)
scarr, does it look like there is a longer paassword than the one youre putting in, and have you tried connecting without chancing it?
Win2k has a "feature" that it shows a password of a lenght differnt to the one inputted. It buggered me up for a while :D

Yeah, it does, the password seems to be the length of my login password. i will try connecting without changing it, see if it makes a difference.

Win2k remembers dial-up passwords fine, it just don't display then in the dialogue like you'd expect.
Our Win2k router box redials when our DSL line is dropped ever few days / weeks. Periodically it completely forgets the dialup password, and our account is locked out within a few minutes because we made 10 incorrect attempts.
Rebooting or not rebooting has nothing to do with the issue, it just bloody forgets ;)

Its good to see that MS took the time to make sure the dial up stuffs in 2K worked properly :D
yeah it had me stumped for a day or two, i just thought "To hell with it!" and it worked :D
