as it says, i (and a few friends) aim to be coming to i28, was aiming for 27, but... it sold out,

just a few questions, 1 main 1 really

your seat//pc is safe while away from it while sleeping, or what do you need to do to make sure things are all fine etc etc,

and any other tips for lans,

Ive been to 8 I-series events now, and security of your PC isnt really a problem.
You get given a badge to wear round your neck and matching stickers for both your PC and Monitor.
If the badge doesnt match the stickers you arent let out the door, security is run 24 hours a day and the tend to patrol around a lot also.
AFAIK there still hasnt been a theft of a pc or Monitor as of yet, obviously there have been thefts of smaller items such as wallets and digi cams, but that was mainly due to stupidity (left on desks etc).
Aslong as you carry any small expensive items around with you there shouldnt be a problem, you also tend to get to know the people around you aswell, so its sort of like a neighborhood watch scheme, everybody looking out for each other :)

If you do a search of the forums for "security" it should put any worries you have to rest.

Yeah I guess iSeries is just like any other lan.. security is pretty tight and 99.9% of the people wouldnt even think about stealing.

Just make sure anything valuable (other than your pc and attachments) is kept safe in like a ruck-sack or whatever.

Ill be coming along to i28 along with about 20 members of my clan, so we will keep someone in charge of looking after valuables whilst we go to the bar.

Some tips for lans:

Make sure you have -

Monitor
Base Unit
Keyboard
Mouse
4/5 way power strip (most lans require this so dont forget it)
Mousemat
Headphones (not speakers)
All your cables
Games and CD Keys

Also remember things you will need that dont pertain to the PC such as -

Towel
Showergel
Toothbrush
Mobile phone and charger
Sleeping bag
Pillow
Accessories
