Ok im lost, ive got a few psx games that i play on my ps2, but i cant save them!

Ive got an official ps2 memory card, a maxx 16mb ps2 card, and a 4gamers 1mb psone card.

Placing the psone cards in and booting to bios shows the card not inserted. Its brand new so thought it might need formatting, but my mates on wouldnt show up either.

Was wondering if anyone actually knew the deal with being able to save psx games played on a ps2.

You'll only be able to save PSOne games to a PSOne card, and I *think* it has to be in slot 1. Not sure if it shows up or not in the Bios, but every time I've played a PSone game on my PS2 its saved fine (namely FF7 and DDR games)

Perhaps it needs to be an official psone memory card?

So far ive tried ff8, ff9 and wip3out none of which can even see the card.

Thats with the 4gamers psone card in slot 1 and slot 2 empty.

Kind of annoyed really, as i bought the psone card from ebay for about £4 specifically to be able to play those games and now i cant save :(

i think your right the only cards that work on my ps2 are the official sony psone cards. i dug out a few non official ones that i got free from a few psone mags to check.

just to say, neon bought an official one that worked for him.

But with my slimline and my normal ps2, any ps1 cards work, official or not.

Bit of an odd one this, perhaps models of the ps2s?

I've got a big PS2 and an unofficial PSX memory card and that works fine with the PSX games I've kept. (FFVII, Legacy of Kain, MGS)
