Quake 4 problems

I have not been able to connect to any multiplay servers, last time was i26, must be down to files not installed on my pc i have download all files from multiplay site but cannot connect to any multiplay servers :(

i cannot find any readme on how to install the files or not many do they just going to quake4 folder or some other..

i do have a server which i cannot connect to

I highly suspect what you're missing is:

ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake4/win32/Quake4_Quakemas_Map_Pack.exe

And they go into the q4base folder.

i installed it think may be the installing of files

it is ...think it maybe down to files installed like the maps and add ons ...

Well, with no addons installed on ours it's just pak00 -> pak13. Which is vanilla plus official map pack.

one thing i noticed was then you enabled it then closed the game and reopen it you have to re-enable it :confused:

Check all your files aren't set to Read-only. Also quit the game properly via menu, rather than Alt+F4 or /quit. Failing that, find the correct cvar in the config file (soz dont have it here to tell you where it is) and change it there.. :)
