Funny because it's true. From my experience:
BT ADSL - Not too bad, some problems. Worst wait: 28 minutes. (Swansea + Birmingham)
BT Leased Lines - Excellent! Really good service. Worst wait: 30 seconds. (Cardiff)
Cable & Wireless - They do try, bless them, they just don't do what we ask. Call us back with an update in an hour? Yeah... really. Worst wait: 50 minutes. (Somewhere up t'north)
Bulldog Partner Support: Oh dear. Worst wait: 40 minutes. (God knows...)
Fibernet: Not bad, they get things done and they do call you back. Worst wait: 15 minutes. (Basingstoke)
All of these are in the UK.

lastminute.com - over half an hour and cost me twenty ****ing quid. Which they *will* be compensating me for.

The Dundee office (which is Business tech support) is being shut down, staff being shifted over to Inida (well, those that are prepared to go). Another reason why I'm glad I left there.
BT went on and on and ON about how they were never going to ship their call centre to India, and now they've announced that this is exactly what they are gonna do

I know, it's just wrong. Luckily, I only deal with wholesale, but of all people, you'd think BT would be able to keep a callcentre open in the UK. It's not like they have the same costs as other callcentres!

They do when they contract out call centres to outside firms (I used to work for an outsourcer called "Clientlogic", and it was through them that I worked on the BT business ADSL tech support campaign).

you know nothing of pain
When selling hpone, in ONE DAY i spent 6 hours on the phone to 3mobile trying to sort a lost phone number during a port to the network. After 6 hours, i'd had enough, and asked my manager to sort it. He spent 4 hours on the problem next day, again with no solution. It then went up the chain, and eventually had to be sorted by the UK customer service manager iirc.
