no Pakhe, cards as in playing cards.

mKd there's lots of cards I'd be interested in at varying prices. If you want to make some cash off it, I suggest you bring the collection along to an i-series or StratLAN. I'll be sure and buy quite a few off you there... And there are a few other guys who I'm sure will take a long look too :)

Ah, I notice from previous threads you're in Liverpool (Lime Street). I'm in Sale (Manchester) so not too far away. Might be able to help you shorten your train journey getting down to Newbury assuming I'm able to get the holiday ;)

Well i wont be attending strat lan but i will be attending i27, As i have price some of the cards up i would prefer to sell them singly,

I have some good cards that can be used very well together

Cho-manno, Relolutionary " Prevent all damage that would be dealt to cho-manno"

Pariah "All damage that would be dealt to you is dealt to enchanted creature instead"

So basically you have a force field.

Well best thing would be to list the cards you want to sell as singles, along with prices. Then bring whats left to i27 to sell as a whole there. Asking people to name what they want is not really going to get you anywhere as there is SO much to choose from, the likelihood of you having it isn't that great.

All my cards including the rares are worth between 400 - 600 quid im only looking for £300 and more is a plus , I need to sell them to be able to aford i27 i cant afford ticket and travel but will need extra cash for food etc.

if u add up like 1300 cards at 30p - 40p each The money adds up. I am now open to offers.

But until i do get offers singles come with a £1.00 p+p charge as any other trader would add to a price.

If not then i guess ill either sell on ebay or
at i27 :(

Thing is the cards aren't worth 30-40p each, if most of the 1300 are commons its like, a tenner. If that.

mKd
23rd January 2006, 00:11
I think you'll find your wrong most commons are like 20 -30,40p and uncommons 40p - £1.00+ even if i sold for 10p each id still make more than a tenner.

Thanks but think before you speak.

Aardvark

If you find someone who will buy at that price, let me know. I have 5000 odd commons here that I'd love to sell for 10p apiece. Your error might be that you're looking at web stores? They sell for 10p because its silly to go lower. Most people give commons away for free though.

As an example, playables.com sell 1500 commons for £28. Thats 2p per card and I'd still never pay that :)

mKd

Fair enough, but when i used to collect i payed between 30p - 40p which i found cheap.

And there we have proof of the lesser spotted tight-arsed Aardvark ;)

But its true what he says. Most of the people who read this forum and collect magic will have most of the money cards in your collection but some will probably sell.

The money ones should sell, it's the big stacks of commons that people here probably won't be interested in.

mKd

I did get offered £250 for the lot maybe i shouldnt be greedy and accept?

Aardvark

I count £143 for the priced cards, so I'd say that would be a good deal for you. Your buyer is essentially gambling that the remainder is £100 worth of cards and given that it looks like you researched all the money cards already, he's probably not going to find much. Bite his hand off :)

Yeah, basically it depends on if there are many rare cards left in there that you haven't listed...

mKd
23rd January 2006, 18:11

I have loads of different types like rebels etc.

I have loads of different types like rebels etc. The key to how much they're worth isn't how good they were when you played, but how many people want them nowadays.

There are several formats of magic, Standard, Extended and Legacy/Vintage...

About half the cards you mentioned are too old for the most popular ones (Standard and Extended) and can only be played in Legacy/Vintage - which has every card ever played as a card pool, consequently the older ones will be almost unpplayable to a T.

Some of the newer cards you have may be played in Extended, but it won't be more than a few dozen. None of the cards you have would be playable in Standard or Block Constructed, outside of a handful which were reprinted in 9th edition.

As an example, the rebel deck you mentioned was excellent in its day - but nowadays is completely unplayable from a competitive point of view, so almost all the cards from it have little monetary value :/

If you payed 20p-30p a card back then, you can probably get those same cards now for less as there are so many around, and so little demand. Add to that the problem that selling cards to a trader will net you only 1/2 to 2/3 of the "sale value" at most, and you understand why the collection as a whole is worth little. Only cards that are played in current formats have any real demand.
