me and pru were having a convo about wat we were eating and it being morning(ish) i decided that we needed a thread on "whats the best breakfast ever?".

atm between me and pru the best idea we had so far was curry and cookies and icecream.

your thoughts please:

It's a little known fact that re-heated curry from the previous day tastes FAR better the next day.
So I agree with the first post.

Cold chicken tikka massalla and pilau rice. Mmmmmmmm.....

Other than that, a good old fry up, or anything with Bonne Maman Strawberry Jam on it.

Bread and milk ftw when you've only got 2 mins to eat breakfast.

Method:

-Take a slice of bread.
-Fold the bread twice and stuff it in your mouth.
-Grab a bottle/carton of milk.
-Swig as much milk as you can.
-Chew, swallow, enjoy.
-Repeat as many times as necessary.

Refreshing and filling at any time of the day :D

Sausage(x3), Egg(x2), Bacon(x3), Hash Brown(the more the better), butter mushrooms(several tablespoons), Thick beans(Thick sauce 4 table spoons), Toast(2 slices)

Glass of OJ or Cranberry Juice
Can of Mountain Dew ready to wash it all down!!!!

Sausages fried then heated for 10 mins
Bacon the same (and crispy)
Eggs flipped, Yoke soft
Mushrooms simmered in butter
Beans Cook em till they aqre thick!!!!
Hash browns, Cook em how you want, deep fried normally works best.
Toast..... Toasted!!!!

and the liquid is obligatory, served on a hot plate with condiments at the ready. Brown sauce normally adds that zing thats missing from the bacon, little salt, ground pepper for the eggs to give a bit of a kick.!!

Or Toast Plus 2 flipped eggs with pepper and brown sauce.

:D

OH MAN IM SO HUNGRY NOW just thinking about the Crumble of the hash brown and the sweet and acidic taste of the brown sauce. The dull and large taste of the egg, the smoky bacon the savoury mmmmmmmm DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLING

There are two types of breakfast that are truly great. They are very different experiences and both could be defined as "morning after" breakfasts, but then by definition, most breakfasts tend to happen the morning after something. :)

Option 1: You wake up, a little hung over. Maybe you're in a bed, but it's more likely you're in a sleeping bag, on a sofa or even a floor. It's about 11AM, maybe later. Certainly not before about 10. There are a number of people around and usually at least some gentle snorring going on.

Clearing a path through empty cans or bottles to the door, there will be an ill-defined period of vague shuffling around the building before a critical mass of hunger develops and reluctant risers are roused from their repose.

Exiting, and en-route to a nearby eatery, there will be much joking about the goings-on of the previous evening. This will involve certain standard jokes about dimming the lights and turning the noise off and will develop into a friendly argument about who exactly did what with whom, all participants being somewhat hazy about how things ended up the previous night.

The breakfast itself will consist of equal measures of the four food groups: crunchy things, chewey things, squidgy things and caffinated drinks. The exact make-up will be down to the individual participants.

Conversation at the table will be specular and wide ranging. Many a good point will be emphasised with a firm thrust of a loaded fork in the air, and if available newspapers will be thoroughly perused.

The entire process should take about an hour and a half to two hours and will leave all involved well fed, shaking off those hangovers and ready to face what's left of the day.

Option 2: I'll cover later if I have time. :)

at the cafe I work at we do the "belly buster" breakfast which our endless patrons always seem to buy vast quantities of at the weekends...

it consists of: 3 sausage, 3 bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, beans and tomatoes, with a slice of toast and bread and a tea or coffee for the "mere" price of £4.75....

very nice to have the morning after a serious bender...so I'm told...

Does anyone else feel it would be a good idea to design a mushroom that doesn't go cold after 5 minutes? I feel rushed to eat them when I prefer to enjoy parts of everything all together.

Breakfast should be a slow meal that ideally lasts until lunchtime, where it all starts over again :D
