i new to lans i`ve never been befor do u have to have curtain things on your pc. also what games do u play

:) things YOU WILL NEED ON YOUR PC..

An updated working Anti Virus.
A recently windows updated patched PC.
Direct X 9.0 C (latest version)
A network card (10/100 or 10/100/1000)
Working gfx card and sound card (youd be amazed number of people with non working pcs that turn up).
MiRC.. to see games lists and tournaments etc..

Your games, fully patched to latest versions.. using a dodgy copy at home is one thing with version 1,0 but on the lan people will be playing the games with the latest versions, so use legal wherever possible and make sure you are using latest versions.

As to games people play, you name it, with 1,000 people, someone somewhere will definately be playing something you like.. if looking for players, try walking around the venue, see if you see people playing games you like, even if you dont know them dont be afraid to ask if you can join in..

Remember, if you turn up with 2 games installed, you will be playing those 2 games an AWFUL lot over the lan party...

And games lists are on the intranet, not within IRC, IRC is used for tournament organisation.

Have you actually been to an i-event this century zhardoum?
