I have had bf2 since it came out and it work perfect on this machine:

3.2Ghz Intel Pentium 4 HT
1Gb DDR2 Ram
Nvidia 5500FX 256mb
250GB hard drive
onboard sound
(dont know motherboard nor psu)

Just recent i got my self a new one with the specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+
2Gb DRR ram
DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR
2x XFX GeForce 6800GT 256MB
2x Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM
Enermax Noisetaker 600W

Now when i run bf2 with the latest patch its kicks me from the server saying lost connection with the server. I got the same router as before also allow bf2 through the firewall. So i decided to run bf2 on single gfx card instead of sli and it works perfect im just wondering if this is a known issue or its my new computer

It's a problem with Dual Core. Ensure the Affinity of the BF2 process is set to just on of the processors. Hopefully it'll be fixed in the next patch or with SF

Yes indeed that is the best way of permanently sorting the problem untill EA fix it.

The nice Mr Boff demonstrated to me how to do the thing with the Affinity setings at i26, but it's a real pain in the arse having to task switch out, change affinity and task switch back every time you want to run the game.

If you have yet to find the tool Image.cfg tool LiQuiD, I can point you in the right direction.

The command i used to modify my executable with the tool was :-

imagecfg -a 0x1 "D:\Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe"

Make a backup of the executable in the first place though incase any later patch recognises the file has been changed.
