To ski or not to ski with mpuk
In favour of it.. well it's skiing! and it's 2 days after my birthday <3
Against it... it's during uni time.. although my timetable only really has stuff going on tues thurs and fri.. 10 hours of stuff in total per week. I don't have an exam timetable or anything yet.. altho end of semester 1 exams are in the last 2 weeks of jan which dont affect this trip.
Serious advice here please

I think you need to take the weighting of the first years exam results into consideration. How much of your degree is your first year worth?

Nothing. What I do this year only counts towards me passing the year. Also the pass mark to get to 2nd year is 40%

Do it, you know you want to.

Worked out this trip will cost a minimum of £700... that is NOT good. Why are we going for such an expensive chalet this year? The first year's one was nice and wasnt that much????

personally the cost would put me off more than the time off uni
if you can afford to go, screw uni and go.
But you need to really think if its worth living as pauper until your next loan comes through!
If you can save up - and i mean really save up not just pretend to - then there's no problem with missing a few days of uni imo but i'd put finances above all other considerations

It would be more if I think a skiing holiday is worth paying a minimum £700...last year was a good £200 less iirc!

Did you not see the thread NJ made? The proposed chalet looks -amazing-.

Yes I know it is. But it's £700 minimum for the whole holiday, prob more like £850-£900 when you include spending cash etc.. which imo is way too much for a ski hol!

It's a way of filtering out the riff raff.
Places are already short so if you're not coming then you're also making room for someone else.
Also a few points
1) This is the 5th trip, not the 3rd. St. Anton, Grindelwald, Deux Alps, Tignes
2) If it costs too much then I'm already looking into a chalet across the road. It may not pan out, but you could always oragnise it yourself.
3) In answer to "why so much?" - Cause I can afford it.

I must admit I am excited to see what a proper chalet was like, I wasn't THAT impressed with dragonlodge.

The steps to the sleeping quarters were a bit tricky when they were icy.

Especially after a few.
