This was the first Alton Towers trip when I didn't get ill at all. It was also the first visit where I didn't eat in either of the hotels restaurants.....coincidence? I think not! It's all you can eat poison.

Sshh dont tell them about the pub, or everybody will want to go.
Indeed I avoided the hotel posion except for breakfast, that reminded me much of Sodexho catering tbh.

The all you can eat buffet (which was indeed ALL you can eat - 8 courses later) was above average, the breakfasts are... not below average. I'm considered a very fussy eater and I found the food to be fairly decent - if a tad overpriced.

Ate in the park on Sunday so skipped the Secret Garden dinner, but ate my fill at the buffet on Monday and felt ok. No ill effects for meeeee.

the food in the restaurants is in fact roadkill made to look uncannily like scrambled eggs
expensive roadkill at that

the food was lovely, with both resturants serving very good (but not cheap) food.

i didnt eat in the secret garden this year, nor take part in the buffet
i had breakfast though and it was just as bad as it was last year, and the year before so im assuming the buffet was of the same low quality

I ate in both the food was of good quality and much nicer than KFC / MAccies or in park kebab houses

the night of the secret garden meal we ate on towers street
i think it was the same food they served the next day in the buffet (probably THE EXACT same food, reheated) for a fraction of the price
then spent the extra time in the pool when the rest of the hotel went to eat so had an emptier pool
imo avoiding the hotel restaurants is the way forward

it appeared all to be in good order, lots of fresh food, seen being prepared in the background. Also the choice of food had increased.
Even breakfasts this year had more options.
I find it hard to understand if you didn't see the food, how you knew it was reheated. Certainly of the al-a-carte dishes available in the garden, they didn't appear as options in flambos buffet

The food was great, brekkie filled us (my room) up for the majority of the day.
1st night dinner in Secret garden impressed me tbh. One guy in my group is allergic to any type of fresh tomato and unfortunately his burger arrived with it on. A quick discussion with the waitress ensured this was sorted, and she looked horrified/speechless when I suggested that she didnt just remove the tomato. Apparently they "dont do that sort of thing here" A fresh dinner arrived with many apologies.
2nd night dinner in the eat all you like was sheer win. The only thing (and I stress ONLY thing) I didnt enjoy was the roast beef, as it was a bit dry and I don't like gravy v much. Apart from that, 6 courses later and we had to go and lay down for 1/5 hours lol
