Hi all,
Time for the lowdown on PlayTimes first big Glasgow Lan event, enough to get your mouth watering hopefully! We'll fill in more details as they arise, but rest assured its gonna be a cracker
What?
PlayTimes first 40 Man Lan event. 40 PC gamers slugging it out over two days on just about every multiplayer game we can get our hands on! Our state of the art network equipments allows us to deliver gigabit network connectivity to EVERY attendee, a first in the UK! We'll also have several dedicated game servers all ready to go (let us know what you'd like running, we'll have it ready) Add to that the social anarchy, laughs, a beer or twelve, the kick arse prizes and organised "big games" that will be running all weekend, and you've got an event not to be missed
When?
10am Saturday the 8th October through 8pm Sunday the 9th October 2005 - Admins wil be on had to show you in and get you setup.
Where?
Park Terrace Youth Hostel - Park Circus (Just off Charing Cross) Glasgow
The LAN will take place in the super swish SYH hostel in Park Circus. The venue is superb, renovated two years ago, it really is more like a hotel than a hostel. We have booked out the venues private conference room for the event. This has capacity for 40 gamers, and is completely secure.
In addition, included in the event price is a proper bed for saturday night a(should you wish to use it, us hardcore gamers don't need sleep!).
What to Bring?
Yourself! Apart from that, you'll need your PC (with network card - we can purchase and fit this for you at cost if needbe!), monitor, peripherals, headphones, Game disks/OS disks, and a 4way/gang plug, some spending cash (for food etc). A change of clothes (kebab sauce kevlar) and personal hygeine products (deoderant yah stinky gimps!) are always a good plan too.
What NOT to Bring?
Microwaves, kettles, toasters, explosives, chainsaws, Zebras (the like the taste of Cat5e). Phone chargers are okay, unless you have a Del-boy yupee phone that draws 100A.
We will provide everyone with a network connection, one power socket per seat (which is why you need a multiplug!). You'll also have a table and a comfy padded chair all ready for you. Please DONT bring your own chairs/furniture folks (unless you can provide a good medical reason...), theres simply not enough room!
You wont need a sleeping bag etc either, as a bed for the night is included
in the event cost.
How much?
£25 for the entire weekend. That gets you two whole days and one whole night of non-stop network gaming, a proper bed for the night, organised big games, prize tournaments, all on the Uk's first gigabit gaming network!
Anyway, hopefully that will peak your interest More details to follow, but if you have any questions at all, please get post/PM and we'll fill you in!
