Ladies and Gentlemen... thanks to a certain your_persona of the AZ, I now posess the "adjusted" alleg server files which not only give us Rixian Unity and Belters, but also allow 80 (yes, eighty) people in a game. Just thought you'd appreciate that one. You know, only 48 more peeps than the MS version of alleg server allows. RAR!!!!
/me prepares for MPUK Alleg Nite with Rixian Unity and Belters running across SOV route

one of these days i will sufficiently test stuff before i announce it works to everyone.
while rix and belters are up, we're still stuck with 32 players. i'm going back to my "path to purity of gaming" now, except with a more sluggish walk and my head held low

I also now have a map editor courtesy of a good lad (not sure if he wants naming, so I wont...) so expect to see some custom scenarios for the next major LAN we go to.
Incidentally, I would like to see some Allegiance games where all research has already been done, all players have limited lives, and maps aren't just huge bleak flat areas of boredom, but where some sectors are clearly with more than others...
This can be arranged, gentlemen.

so basically you want a zone game across the lan code?

The editor / server seems somewhat krufty. I will have more information about whether it works, or whether it has quirks, later.

afty, can i assume that krufty is a technical term, like widget, dongle, or F*cked ?

yeah man :)
(c) or (k) rufty means 'ropey' - a bit unstable / rough.
