How do i display a coloured message instead of std text ?

I was in a PTG server that is using modmanger and they have it, it is better than green, grabs your attention more.

I beleive it is a certain code you prefix the text with but i don't know what, any help please ?

Thanks

u on about that orange text thing they found?

i believe you just put in some text at the start of your message text to make it orange.

i believe you need to do this:

mm_announcer.addTimedMessage "1:400:|ccc| Welcome to the =XDC= Clan Server"

Announcement text on BF2RA as orange with the command:-
|ccc| Welcome

You cant apply this yet to MM as it will print ccc Welcome

Note sure if anyone else is aware of a way around this? Its obviously not seeing the pipes which is good but not seeing the breakout of ccc as the colour?

True if you add that to the start of any auto announcments it does not work.

But you can add it to the 4 messages in the ModManager Player Kicker v1.8 module i.e
mm_kicker.warnWordMessage "|ccc| WARNING: Please refrain from using bad / racist language on this server '%s'"

Also you can add it to the start of the warn/kick/ban messages in BF2CC i.e
|ccc| <action> <Player> to make room for an Admin
In BF2CC go to options >w/k/b reasons and just add |ccc| to the start of each entry. That way every server message is in orange except the auto announcments.

Would be nice to use that code for announcments. Untill we can I use bf2ra for my server messages as that does allow timed messages in orange. The only downside is bf2ra runs client side and not server side so you need to leave it running on your pc.

For me it is worth it tho just for the orange text.

Seem you can use it in chat but when used in modmanager i thinks the | is a line break for your text.

Thats correct | is the line break for messages just like in the MOTD.

Existing text scenario

mm_announcer.addTimedMessage "10:150: |ccc| WELCOME"
Prints as
BF2RA - ORANGE"WELCOME"
MM - GREEN "ccc WELCOME"

Any admins know a way around this so i can use ORANGE TEXT on MM???

Nope as | is the line seperator.

Killer how come is works for some of the messages but not others ?

Could you just change the "new line" delimiter and leave the "|" untouched ?

A common "new line" delimiter could be "\n"

Just my 2 cents...

I was chosen to maintain the standard set in the MOTD.

Is there any way that this can be implemented. I prefer to use BF2CC because of the chat logging. HOwever the green server messages are simply ignored. The orange warnings etc get noticed so much better in BF2RA. Clearly its possible to do.

OK so this is again a problem with BF2CC. EA have fixed in 1.03 the orange text. Now the |ccc| does nothing. Anyone know if they changed it or just fixed it out all together?

We really need orange announcements for warnings and kicks or you just dont see them. Ive posted on BF2CC forums too, hope we can resolve this.

btw well multiplay for getting 1.03 rolled out so fast. Our server has been lite up like xmo since the new patch with promotions!
