Yesterday i got to upgrade a real mega machine. It was a HP DL760, a quick google would show you what these things are like.

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantdl760/images/prod-shot-oov.jpg

It takes up to 64gb of ram, and has 8 processors. The minimum upgrade you can do is 5gb (unless you only use 256mb memory sticks.)

The odd thing is, it only has 4 hard drive bays. I guess storage isn't it's main use. It weighs about 70kg and costs...well, have a look for yourself.

Just what I was going to say, storage is its main thing, wait till you see one hooked up on a large scale array, its way mean..

What you have their, is the head of the best, wait till you see it attached to its body..

I can't beleive they trusted me to upgrade it. Or the fact that when myself and one of the salesmen from the company were carrying it through to the build desk he managed to carry it by himself when we couldn't both fit through a small corridor.

70kg isn't non-doable, although its illegal for him to do that i imagine, i bet he didn't pick up from the knees while keeping his back straight either :p

I've racked a high-end Juniper without a hydraulic lift (not much fun), and they're only $1M if you pay list price :-)

People actually pay list price?

and Bvark wins hard bastard award, Oxy loses.
