Only thing that rings a bell for me with that is the probationary 6 points for 2 years and then the full 12 afterwards.

Yup.

So erm for anyone that doesn't know...

Usually 12 points on your licence == licence lost
In your first 2 years after passing, you can only have 6 before you lose it

Oh. I only knew about a 6 month 'do-anything-wrong-lose-your-licence' thing.

I got three points on my provisional too.

Ran a red light the first time I ever came to one, hehe!

Points are gone now though.
