I was just wondering, how many people here actually have a good round in The Tomb of Primeval King's occasionally?
If anyone wants a run down, here it is.
The Tomb's is basically a rolling tournament. Anyone who gets a party of 8 players together can enter whenever. The opponents at each level are drawn at random with other teams entering the tournament at a similar time. Although this is not true if there are not enough teams entered to fill all the places, in which case maps will get skipped. But the maximum possible battles is 8, before you get to the Hall of Heroes.
The maps numbered because I cant remember the names:
(always in order - you can't go backwards :P)
1. Simple 1v1.
2. 6-way last team standing with priests (similar to Thirsty River, as long as the priest is alive, the dead will respawn at his location every 2 minutes (2:00, 4:00, 6:00, 8:00).
3. 3 team king of the hill, hold the altar when the timer reaches zero (resurrection orbs are like the Light of Dwayna spell, and it is the only way of resurrecting your Ghostly Hero, so you will need it, if not for yourself then to stop the enemies using it to resurrect their Ghostly)
4. 6-way last team standing (teams are paired off and closed off forcing 3 seperate 1v1's at the start)
5. Relic run 1v1 score 3 in a row to win, or have the highest score when the timer reaches zero (similar to capture the flag, run to their base, take their relic, run back to your base and give it to your Ghostly Hero (by clicking him - don't drop it!), you must try to keep your Ghost and relic runner alive)
----
The later stages (only lucky map jumpers and winning teams get this far, the maps look pretty and gold etc)
6. Simple 1v1 with priests resurrecting the dead every 2 minutes (if they all die on 1:59 - they all respawn at their priest in 1 second)
7. 3 teams fighting over the altar with priests resurrecting the dead every 2 minutes.
8. Simple 1v1 Relic run (same as the other one except you need someone to control the door switch to open the quicker route)
When you complete map 8 you are into the HoH, if the HoH is not ready for you then you may have to wait up to 10 minutes to get in (for the next battle to start). The 'waiting room' is called The Vault, and is boring as hell.
The Hall of Heroes is always alive, a battle inside the HoH lasts no more than 10 minutes before a winner is decided and a new battle starts in about 1 minute.
When the match starts there is up to 5 teams in there. The defenders (the last team to win the HoH) plus up to 4 newcomers (sometimes less, depending on how many teams managed to get through all the maps in the 10 minute period which was the previous HoH round). The winners must have control of the altar when the counter reaches zero.
Assuming the HoH is full, the counter starts counting down from 10 minutes. The 4 newcomers are paired off for a 1v1 match. The faster you kill the opponent, the more time you have to take the altar off the defenders. It's tough for the defenders, because if there is 2 or more other teams in the match, they will be attacked from both sides at the same time.
Dead players get resurrected every 2 minutes, including your Ghostly Hero, who is vital for claiming the altar. So after the counter reaches the 2 minutes, anyone who dies will not get resurrected, so you must keep your Ghostly Hero alive at all costs. At the same time, try to assassinate the enemy Ghostly Hero's on 2 minutes.
If the defenders Ghostly Hero gets killed, they still hold the altar untill another Ghostly Hero is given the opportunity to stand in the centre of the altar and use his Claim Resource skill, which has about a 3-5 second casting time. As you probably guessed, if the defending team loses their Ghostly Hero with less than 2 minutes left, they will attempt to block the other Ghostly Hero. Failing a blocking attempt to stop him reaching the centre of the altar, they can use any skill which interrupts skills/actions or knockdowns to stop him from claiming. Some spells can help you in this situation, for example Aegis and Guardian will cause the Ghostly Hero to block a lot of attacks, meaning Hammer knockdown Warriors and Rangers with interrupting shots will get most of their attacks blocked. With a bit of luck, your Ghostly Hero will claim the altar and you win.
When you win, a chest appears and reveals 3 Celestial Sigil's and a random rare item of max level (always max dmg weapon or superior rune etc.), they are assigned to random players in the team.
Then, the next match begins and you are the defenders.
Depending on your build, you can decide whether you wish to defend the altar, or hide away and let another possible holding build take it from you, in hope of winning it back (you need a really strong holding build to defend against 2 teams).
Also, you have to watch out for attacking teams. I remember one time, we sat back because we knew we couldn't hold the altar against 2 teams, but the last 2 minutes was approaching and it comes to the stage where you have to jump up and defend because they might even wear your Ghostly Hero down from 2:10 and then finish him off on 1:59, meaning you have to stop the other Ghostly Heroes from claiming for almost 2 minutes. Anyway, our Ghostly Hero was killed just before 2 minutes and they put a Well of the Profane up just before he respawned on 2:00, meaning he couldn't receive ANY enchantments which makes it nearly impossible to keep him alive. Luckily, we went on to win the match by blocking their Ghostly Hero and interrupting him for the last few seconds when he found a way through.
Tomb's is intense... much more fun than PvE if you can find a group of players who have a plan, preferably with voice comms.
EDIT
By the way, to win favour of the gods teams of the same server (Europe, America or Korea) must win 5 times in a row. For example if America has favour of the Gods and Europe wins the HoH 4 times in a row, then Korea wins, it is reset so Europe would have to come back in and win 5 times in a row to get favour. Another example, if Europe has favour then Korea and America could fight over it all day, Europe would keep favour as long as Korea and America stopped eachother from getting 5 in a row.
