Hi,

yes, i tried the board search but didnt found anything whats similiar to my "problem". Im not sure at all if this is a real problem.

Ok, look. Some days ago our BF2 server started, we are a clan and rented it from a provider.

Now, when we configured the gameserver we saw that the normal admin access is a bit crap so we searched for some other solutions. Finally we arrived on the BF2CC site.

What i did now is that ive downloaded the adminscripts only. The Modmanager Adminscripts v1.0 one. Ive extract them and uploaded all files in the correct directorie on the gameserver. Ive changed the modmanager.con in the mods/bf2/settings folder and added the server data. Ive also changed the mm_rcon.py in admin/modules, i set 2 passwords for the "different" (?) admin levels. Ok, all done, i restartet the server and looked how it works. The log is fine, seems like anything runs nice.

I just got 1 problem now: Anyone, doesnt matter who, can join the server, go in their console and type in "rcon login". The result is that they get logged in and can use the commands. When they login with this line they dont use any password, they just write "rcon login" and the Modmanager announces that the player who used it is logged in.

First of all i thought maybe its just BF2 itself who saves my login data, so once when i logged in it remembers the data. So, i changed the rcon password in the default.cfg and in the modmanager.con, restartet the server and tried again. Now i shouldnt be able to login if BF2 saves my data, but.. Hell, i type in "rcon login" and again, im logged in and can use admin. What the.. ?

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with it? Ive also tried to reinstall the whole Modmanager again. But the problem is still there, so, what am i supposed to do? I dont want any gamer to be an admin.

I really hope you guys can help me. Oh, and sry if im in the wrong board categorie ^_^.

Best Greets

Ah. What i forgot to add, sry for new post btw.

Yes - I followed the instructions on the BF2CC Site to install.

Ive also edited the modmanager.con and setted the sv.adminScript to "modmanager" in the serverconfig.con file.

How you can see in the following log the modmanager runs, and i can login and logout. Its just the problem that anyone can login with typing "rcon login" in console :S.

You dont ever need to change the scripts on modmanager.con.
It sounds like you have a blank password. Ensure you have set a password in modmanager.con

Yes, thats what some people told me on other forums too. Now ive reloaded the whole script. Means, ive deleted any files, downloaded them again, changed the modmanager.con added the line in serverconfig.con and uploaded them again to the BF2 server.

I restarted it, same problem as before. I connect to the server, open the console and type in "rcon login", and then the modmanager announce "bla become admin" (or whatever the message is).

What i also did now was to delete my default.cfg in the /admin/ folder. On the other forums they told me that the Modmanager dont need this file at all.

Here is a quote of my modmanager.con:

#
# ModManager Rcon v1.6
#
mm_rcon.allowBatching 1
mm_rcon.enableLinger 0
mm_rcon.lingerFor 1
mm_rcon.loginMessage "%s became a server administrator"
mm_rcon.logoutMessage "%s gave up administrator rights"
mm_rcon.rconIp "217.24.218.65"
mm_rcon.rconListenQueue 1
mm_rcon.rconPassword "*my-rcon-pass*"
mm_rcon.rconPort 17525
mm_rcon.reuseAddress 1

The port for rcon is set by my server provider, dunno why they dont use the normal one.

Sooo.. What could it be? Im out of ideas :(.

*Edit: Another idea ive had was that the rcon port maybe dont work or is blocked. But if the "normal" rcon works it cant be that or?

Ahh, and one last thing too: My first login in the modmanager log was done with "rcon login" (without password), the second login was done with "rcon login pass" (with password).

This does not need "adding" it needs "editing" you possibly have two copies of rcon running.
Also ur modmanager.con is missing some settings are you running v1.0 rc3, if not ensure you update?

will this need to be set if you use multiplay? It seems it takes the password I set in the original multiplay clanforge..?

now you got me totally confused
If you have one of our servers you shouldnt be doing anything manually. I suggest you create a new profile and then just select the ModManager addon and it will ALL be done for u.
