at some point (when i can be arsed) i'll dig out screenshots for the following:

Rhasta
Boots of Travel
Eye of Skadi
Aghanim's Scepter
Refresher Orb
Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse
(can't remember the 6th item, can't have been that great... I may have ran out of ideas and bought a crystalys or possibly a dagon but i don't know!)

Razor
Boots of Travel
Buriza-do-Kanyon
Butterfly
Radiance
Eye of Skadi
Heart of Tarrasque

That Razor build also had at various points throughout the game a Cranium Basher and a Maelstrom

k thx :smokin:

I suppose I should have gone for eye instead of desolator?

Just wanted to know if I got the eventual build about right. order was:

Boots
Perseverence
Desolator
(Crystalis)
Burize
MONKEY King - yeah, yeah, that's what I meant Joey...
Butterfly

The Desolator was correct on Clinkz, far more useful than Skadi.

My ideal clinkz build would probably be:

Treads
Butterfly
Desolator
Burize
Monkey King Bar
Black King Bar

At that level, there is no need for persevence, and the Black King Bar is very useful for preventing stuns - just about the only way a well played Clinkz is killed.

Appear, pop the Black King Bar, kill someone while it's still active, then Wind Walk.

yeah i think that's probably about right. desolator is probably more effective on clinkz than skadi because you don't have to worry about slowing them down; you just want the 30% damage bonus really. the order looks good, might have been worth upgrading the perseverence to linken's sphere for extra regen, extra hp/mana and spell block joy (obviously dependant on who you're up against).

another surprisingly effective item on clinkz is a cranium basher, oddly enough. even though it's only 10% chance on ranged heroes his silly attack rate makes up for that.

i'd also say that later in the game boots of travel are the way to go rather than power treads but that's because i like teleporting in and f**king people :D

Yes, if you're struggling to build the more expensive stuff with Clinkz, or if your team are sucking and therefore the enemy heroes are VERY powerful, then going double Cranium Basher can be exceedingly good.

What about Yanga and Sasha?

I would say no on Clinkz... Yange and Sasha is a nice, cheap to put together item, usually used if you are struggling to put together more expensive items.

With Clinkz, it will be rare for you to struggle that much... and the Desolator is just required... because of his agility/flee factor you simply want to give him max damage and max crits, everything else falls by the wayside. Sange and Yasha isn't particularly huge damage, and it also takes up the ORB slot that is better used for the Desolator.

the general rule for orb effects is this:

melee heroes - lifesteal (mask of death, mask of madness, helm of the dominator, satanic)
ranged agility heroes - stygian desolator or maelstrom
ranged int heroes - eye of skadi or maelstrom

obviously this rule of thumb has exceptions and it all depends on exactly what hero you are and who you're up against, but in most cases that fits

i also think that maelstrom is the most hilarious item in the game, it pays for itself in literally minutes because of the insane amounts of creep kills you get after building it. plus it's effectively a 200dmg crit when you're against a hero, but because it's magic damage rather than physical damage it's far more effective than normal critical damage.

Game from CLUK, basically 1v1 (with 4 incidental newbies on each side).

I got the 2nd "one" from the guy on the other team, who bought one, headstrong charged me, while I had mine :).

(Game was 5.84 btw, the other good guy was playing Sven.)

11-0 :D

not a roshan beater though.

i don't know what the exact percentage is but roshan has a pretty effective melee damage return ability which makes soloing him as a melee hero next to impossible. i think only naix or leoric with satanic and their passive bonus lifesteal could do it.

this is part of why the ursa warrior used to be able to solo roshan at L7; because the ursa's damage type is classed as ranged rather than melee (due to a problem with fury swipes) he isn't affected by damage return.
