Ascended Content As I mentioned in my last open letter, one of our top priorities has been adding content for ascended roleplaying characters. It's on the way. We are now entering a testing and polish phase on Sorrow's Furnace and other new ascended content. The additions will include new quests, new monsters, new items and new accelerated sources of XP and rare items.

seems like its close :D

im trying not to get my hopes for 2h and 1h versions of weapons up too much. My warrior desperatly needs a nasty-ass two handed sword :D

At first I was shocked there was no 2h Axe or Sword, or dual wielding in this game. But then I realised how the different weapons are completely different styles.

Sword - High DPS with energy attack skills.
Axe - High DPS with adrenaline attack skills.
Hammer - Moderate DPS with disrupting and knockdowns.

As you can see, changing your weapon is not that simple, your entire build has to be corrected if you want effective use of the new weapon.

With my guild TWG I occasionally win the Hall of Heroes.

The build we have been running of late has consisted of 3 Axe Warrior/Ranger's.

Tiger's Fury (33% faster attack without taking double damage like with Frenzy)
Penetrating Blow (medium damage adrenaline attack)
Disrupting Chop (base damage but interrupts target foe)
Eviscerate (high damage elite adrenaline attack)
Executioners Strike (high damage adrenaline attack)
Sprint (catch chickens, running relics)
Nature's Renewal (spirit which removes all hexes and all enchantments)
Resurrection Signet.

This build works, because the increased attack speed means increased adrenaline gain, which basically pumps all the skills ready to offload.

Sword simply can't match Axe for the selection of damage adrenaline attacks. Only lacking 1 or 2 damage adrenaline skills, but it makes all the difference. The extra selection of energy sword skills means an effective Sword Warrior would need some energy control, to maintain enough energy to spam the attack skills.

...ahem

My point is, the game is better without 2h swords and axes or 1h hammers. It's simple but effective the way it works.

For 5 seconds, your attack rate is increased, but you deal less damage.

For 8 seconds, you attack 33% faster, but take double damage.

personally, its stlye, i like sword and shield, just looks nice. but with a dark knight style war/nec id like a 2h sword. i dont think itd be too hard to add in, itd be like hammers, slower but dealing more dmg i think

Im thinking of perhaps changing from sword to hammer. I find alot of the sword adrenaline skills useless quite alot of the time

even a cross bow needs 2 hands, and your feet to reload it

ahh, final fantasy 11.

/me remembers the good old days

:p

The problem with ff11 is that it got to be a grind too quickly :(

There was no obvious route through the game, nothing to get you moving around, and the "war" was bloody pathetic :p

I find charging in as warrior with "for great justice" and then using sword skill "sever artery" then using "gash" a move that deals more damage if they`re bleeding to extremly effective.
