There is a pub/guest house on the road about 1/2 mile from the park entrance. Anyone remember what that is called? Clearly staying overnight in the pub on the doorstep of the park is the most win option :)

Just went up the motorway, someone said to get off at 13 or 15, can't remember which now, but it's posted from there.

The M6 toll road is built in such a way that you don't have to look at the filth that is Birmingham, and the traffic jams that go with it. It's worth every penny IMO. :p:

The way I always go is M6 Junction 13 for Stafford, then cut up long A roads to Uttoxeter, you are then mere minutes from the park.

You can also follow the signposted route in, which is M6 all the way up to Junction 17, then A50 and turn off half way along, or you can cut through the backlanes completely and go near CLUK.

There are now 4 of us in my room, however I'm happy enough to book another room if anyone is interested, or have people on airbeds on the floor

It's not as well signposted as 15/16, but it is signposted. It is also the way they direct you out of Alton Towers to the M6.

lads i use to live in alton 2 mins from alton towers for 14 odd yrs...the best place would be to stay is called "the lord stewsberry" its on the way up the hill to the towers and they have bar/snooker/pool tables too...theres also b and b's in the village to...uttoxeter why would u stay there its like 15-20 mins away....anyways hope that helps..
