View Full Version : BF2CC Client - meant to work?

Using BF2CC Client 1.0.2020 with the Connection Type of BF2 R-Con ONLY (Daemon not meant to work either?) I get the following msg box:
BF2CC Python Scripts Not Installed correctly
Required Script Revision = 3.6
Installed Script Revision = 3.9
BF2CC will now open a browser... yadda yadda
I'm using it with the Admin port assigned by Multiplay with my userID and the R-Con password. Is this correct? And should we be able to use the BF2CC client?
Cheers,
Rob
Sort of speaks for itself:
Required Script Revision = 3.6
Installed Script Revision = 3.9
The public version of BF2CC is too old to run against the ModManager we have installed which has a raft of new features.

Of course ;-) I guess my question should have been, "Are there plans for a newer version of BF2CC to be released soon?"

We are beta testing it at the moment. The bug list doesn't seem that great at the moment, so I'd expect a release sooner rather than later.

We are on to 2042 testing. Brendan is away until Saturday evening now.
The rough timeline for releases is another beta/release candidate Saturday and then a release you can use Sunday. Although my experience shows this could easily slip a day or two.
The program basically works, I've fed back some more stuff, but it's looking reasonably good.
There are a few features I havn't been able to test out yet to see if they work, like the "change player to another team at then end of a round" feature. I admit I struggle to keep track on what will only work in the Daemon version, and what will work in the Rcon only version that we get to use.

yeah i saw that the bf2cc admin scripts can output the current game state, i.e playing, pregame, endgame etc. guess it must use that to change players over

I still have some issues with using BF2CC on our multiplay server.
Some of it basic stuff, like you can edit the maplist in BF2CC and it's not shown in clanforge. BF2CC also has it's own smart-autobalance, idle kick etc and I don't believe it's using mm_modules to achieve this? confusing. Also I am still canvassing Brendan to address my security concerns given we can only use the Rcon version, for th emoment at least.
I'm somewhat hampered by always having a full server during the time of day when I can do testing. I suppose I shouldn't complain about this.
Thats correct changing things by any other means than clanforge will not show up in clanforge. In effects of these changes are temporary and hence should only be used as such.
The smart autobalance is indeed not done by the mm_ scripts I did suggest that this might cause confusion and suggested that as much functionaility as possible was pushed down into the mm_ scripts but this wasnt compatible with the BF2CC guys plans unfortunately.
Thanks for all the feedback keep it coming.

Yeah i was messing around with the maplist commands and was able to add and delete maps from the map list and it would stay like that across map changes, think only restarts and crashes revert it.
I did try the maplist clear command and then to add aload of maps to it in an order saved to a file by my program. but the server restarted i think and had the maplist as defined in clanforge.
I think it does this as you can save the files on the server, but restarts and so on clanforge copies its config files from the profile to the actual server overwriting any changes made not made through clanforge?
Thats correct when u restart the server in clanforge it sends all the info in the profile over to the server again to ensure all is how it should be.

So BF2CC R-CON version should work correctly with all Multiplay BF2 servers (Ranked included)?
Because when I try it I get an error that the python scripts are not installed or installed improperly. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Roly
Only if ur on the MM and BF2CC BETA programs.
