Match (non ranked) profile for BF2

I'm fully aware that you cannot password ranked servers and even if you try the password is ignored.

I'm also aware that in order to password the server you need to create a new match or un-ranked profile.

I've made a duplicate of the original BF2 profile but how to I "un-rank" it? If I change "sv.ranked" in the config from 1 to 0 it automatically changes it back to 1.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I did it by creating a new profile.

Gives you the choice then on wether the profile is ranked or unranked.

Then just changed any of the settings i wanted. Bit more work,but straight forward to do.

indeed, if you click to create a new profile it gives you templates for ranked or unranked, far easier than duplicating.

that said, the main setting you need to change is sv_ranked.

I deleted the duplicate and created a new profile which as you say gives you the option.
