Feedback on your KIA server.

Hi!

First let me be so humble as to admit I have never visited you forums before.

However, I have been a frequent guest of your servers, and as of recently I have discovered your BF2 servers to be among the best in regards to bugs, behaviour and ping. So of course I and my mates from my clan (=|BsE|=) have used them alot. Especially the "kt16" and "KIA" servers.

We are (as you may conclude from my broken english) Norwegians...and we have been a very active, and very well organised clan for 2 years. Several of us are involved in the running of other game serveres, as am I, and I would presume I know some of common behaviour on servers. We are also very active members of the largest norwegian battlefield community: www.battlefield.no

Wich brings me to the issue:

I was just at the "KIA" server, with some of my clansmen, and we were having a round, in wich the commander (in my opinion) was being very inactive.

Luckily BF2 has a remedy for this, and it's called "mutiny". Any player that wants to, can issue a vote in this fassion, and it takes a hell of a lot of players (pardon the language) to vote yes for a mutiny to take place, but it's a good clean message to the commander be it a yes or a no.

So I issued a vote....and boy did I stumble into a beehive. After a short time one of the KIA players (I'm sorry...never got his name.) told us: "Anybody votes to kick the commander, I kick him"

I asked "Why"?

"He's KIA."

"Back off...."(or something in that fashion)

I reply: "He still has to do a job as a commander, doesn't he"?

and a few minutes later I'm kicked.


Now.....I have'nt tried to reenter the server...Probably I'm just kicked, not banned...but this is a behaviour that makes me a bit irritaded. It's dumb, it's not at all fair, and it's plain childish.

We were not misbehaving, we were enjoing good teamplay, and we offered a vote to tell the commander he should be more active on scans and arty. Is this grounds to punish?

It's my very subjective opinion, and it may be I'm wrong...but this guy needs to be told to keep the good of the players on the server in mind...not protecting his own clanmembers at any cost.

I apologise for entering you forums in such a way, but I felt you needed to know. My next thread will be a cozyer one, I promise!

First of all, let me introduce myself, I'm Paul Bowsher, your fellow bf.no members Panic and Khyber will know me and Steven Hartland ("Killing" on these forums) from the bf1942 list and the FoM Wiki. I'm sorry to hear of your problems on our clanservers, however all our servers that are not called "EA UK Public" or "Multiplay.co.uk :: Public" are rented by clans, who are free to admin them as they wish, meaning they can kick and ban as they please. We have plenty of other servers to play on, including the official EA UK servers. If you ever have any technical problems with these, come see us in #mpukbf2 on QuakeNet IRC. Say hello to Panic and Khyber for me, I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll come up with for ModManager

Did'nt realise they where rented servers, and although I could say a thing or two about their behaviour even so....we'll let it rest, as it's on their account, not yours :)

I see this is a place I will frequent more often, it's a pleasure to be greeted by the likes of you!

Took a look at the forums, and liked what I saw...so I'll probably be seeing you again!

I just read your post and i woudl liek to point you to our forums wich are at http://www.kia-corp.co.uk/forums/ .

Please take time to register and post yer question there , i haveno idea who it was but im sure if some of us remember it you wil get an answer .

I also woudl liek to add that we try admin it strictly as in quick kicks after using swearwords even sometimes that quick to set an example orelse behaviour might escelate very fast as on some of teh other servers i hope you understand .

My idea why he wanted to stay commander is that he wanted to practice it , atm we dont have a spare server yet for this so we also use this one for practice and i know soem of us and even get annoyed sometimes on how fast people want to kick you or punish you so overreaction might happen at times .

We often started at -18 etc due punishing altho peopel been warned about mines or a tank shootin apc's etc and yes we kick em if they keep acting liek this or keep statwhoring by driving off solo as we want to promote and "enforce" teamwork to keepit a fun place to play .

i hope you visit us there and not let this downgrade to a bad relationship .
