Well actually it's going to be the 3rd of July that we celebrate it this year (Sunday).
Sorry about the short notice. If anyone wants to come down to celebrate we're going to be having a HUGE festival where they shut down one of our bases (RAF Feltwell) and let everyone run wild.
Basically there will be amusement park rides like you would see at the mayfair, loud music, lots of food and beer, all at american prices.
Even though it's basically a celebration of America's Independence from England, it's still open to everyone. In fact the majority of the participants (like 80%), are in fact British.
Anyway, if any of you are interested please post here and i'll let you know if the spots are full yet. If you'd like to come down and spend the night at our place please let us know and we'll be more than happy to put a few of you up. Celebrations start at 12am and go on until 12pm. There will be fireworks and lots of fun.
See you there.

I'd love to attend but LG would lynch me if I went on another fun day out with Exe, Pos and the gang without her.

okay... people can talk about how america only got their independence cuz britain didn't really want it etc, but the fact of the matter is that america was a nation full of farmers with pitchforks and we won our revolution against the strongest empire in the world at the time. we have reason to celebrate and don't try to downplay it.

tsunami, we'd love to have you down.
kil... well, we'll have you (rofl, just kidding, we'd love to have you too).
specifics are as follows:
Where - RAF Feltwell, you can find it just by typing in Feltwell on any auto-router.
When - Sunday, July 3rd at 12am
You can meet up with us at our house anytime after 9am prior to the festivities. I've got to work after 1700, but the wife will still be around doing her song and dance to entertain everyone. And besides, you don't have to stick with her at all. It's an open base, meaning everyone is welcome. So if you want to come and just enjoy the party, you don't even have to let us know.

CANADA!
The only country to successfully invade America and burn it's capital to the ground.
The United States, ill-equipped to fight a war against Britain, invaded Canada and burned York in 1813.
The British burning of Washington in August 1814 was a retaliatory act for the American burning of York in the previous year.
The US have a day each year when they really pull out all the stops and make a big deal of the fact that they are Americans. The 4th of July is an excuse for one big national party. :)
We have days like that in the UK as well (St Davids Day, St Georges Day etc). Do we celebrate them in the same way? Hell no! It wouldn't be "politically correct" to celebrate our patriotism and nationality. Take the Trafalgar 200 celebrations. It was Red vs Blue instead of English vs French.... just so that the French wouldn't be offended!
FOR ****S SAKE!!!
I won't be able to make it there on Sunday since I'll be at Alton Towers, but have a good time Exe. :D
I've got to work that sunday =[
Just had this one off for i24 so dont think I could get it off, I shall seeeeee
