That's one of the best lists I've ever seen, most of those are toys I begged my parents to get me but they wouldn't, like Frosty the Snowman, although I think I eventually ended up with one from a jumble sale, so all the things were out of date, but it still crushed ice!

I always wanted one of these! I can't believe I can remember wanting one of these, it was like 17 years ago! :)
Excellent website. I think the Rubik's Cube ranked lower than it should have though. And I completely agree on the bike being the number 1.

I had a Mr Frosty. That makes me the coolest.

Strych, have you still got it? Maybe in the loft or something? Would love to set it up at StratLAN during the BBQ. :p:

I will certainly look for it, however after 20 odd years I fear it may be somewhat out of service. Plus the penguin syrup is probably past its best by now.
And, on reflection, there are only about 5 or 6 things on that list that I *didn't* own. Does that make me spoilt?

I always wanted screwball scramble too, but luckily a guy I knew who went to a holiday club thing with me had it, so I used to get to play it anyway :D

It was great for the 20 minutes it took you to master it :(
"TCR - The 'other' racing set" - which sometimes lasted the WHOLE of Christmas day! ;)
I pity the children of today, who don't have BigTraks - or BigLoaders (I have the deluxe BigLoader still, embarassingly enough... must put it together)

i hardly recognized any of those toys...
maybe the gap between the atlantic was larger back then.
also i think maybe they were a little bit before my era.

Excellent list, still got some of the games/toys on there :)..
The one that I'm really glad to see on there is number 18.. Flight deck.
http://tv.cream.org/extras/toys/images/flight.jpg
We had this toy, and it really was ace. One summer we set it up in the backgarden, with the help of our dad. The deck was place on the floor, and the plane use to fly by wire (string like) which we attached to a hook 1/2 way up the house (appox 10ft). The plane would launch, up the wire then you controlled it down to the deck..
Ahhhh happy days :)

I don't think numbers 1 & 2 should be there. I don't think they are toys

lego took over my life from a very young age. :)

the reason i say before my era is that in america, from about the early 80's onwards, we all became drooling goons who wouldn't play with anything unless it made lots of noise or had flashing lights. and alot of those toys don't seem to have either... hence i'm thinking either that either british are easier to entertain, or that maybe the toys are from an early era, say 70's or so.

or maybe we're not suckered into states of delerium by anything with silly lights and an annoying techno sound
British bulldog forever (playground game of win, that clearly needs to make an appearance at summer LANs)

Indeed it was great, except all the political correctness bollox trying to stop the game because of it's violence undertones. I remember many a fond playtime playing this game =)

No Lego on the list?
Transformers at 92 - better than Stretch "One trick pony" Armstrong?
Where are the Micro Machines?
Gentlemen, that list is a mockery of a travesty of a shambles!
Screwball Scramble was awesome tho, loved the vertical versions with all the funky magnetic bits....
