Just a few quickies as im thinking of coming along to my first LAN (of over 6 people) - the next StratLan.

How would you reccomend the games to bring? There are loads of games present im sure and I wouldnt want to miss out because I dont have a copy.

How much spending money would you think? Also how much food? Do you guys just show up with money to buy or prepared munch?

Things to prep for on my PC. Should I give it a good defrag? Format? Anything I can do b4 hand that would speed up the set up.

How quick should I book for Strat, I mean there is only 100 comp places O.o

Also if anyone is looking to go pls post here cos I know *no one*

my spending at i24

took £100 cash for food and beers etc.

came back with £15..

did eat at baggies and drank a lot of beer. occasional snacky food from the MPUK tuck shop. Did do a £20 trip to the supermarket for BBQ food.

So £100 is plenty.

However.

i had to replace power supply and motherboard which went fubar.....

so doubled my expenditure :(

CD, possibly it's the fact that I tend to not eat a lot until about saturday night when I realise I'm starving, then buy half of sainsburys, but instead of doing that, I bought a couple of snacks from the fronyt desk :p

For Strat you pick your own seats, so the sooner you book the sooner you can pick your seat once the seating has opened. Worth it so you don't get stuck in the corner or by the door so you get stcuk with all the pizza delivery...

I'd defrag before LAN, no point formatting before you come unless it really needs it, and NEVER format the night before. I've done it several times and it means that most of the lan is spent trying to find graphics drivers etc ;)
