View Full Version : Half-Life 2 Aftermath Retail Version Confirmed

Valve's Doug Lombardi has spoken to EuroGamer.net during E3 about the upcoming expansion for Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Aftermath. Lombardi says that the expansion will be available in both a retail version as well as a version downloadable through Steam. Since Vivendi-Universal Games won’t be distributing Half-Life 2 as of August this year, due to conflicts regarding distribution via Steam, it is still unclear who will distribute the retail version of both Half-Life 2 and its expansion pack.

HL2: Aftermath will put you back in the role of Gordon Freeman and let you experience the events following immediately after the end of the original game. You will see a lot more of Alyx, the kind and always helpful sidekick, who will be back to pull you out of trouble.

Doug Lombardi let's us know that a new distributor will be revealed in the beginning of the summer and that the expansion is due for release in September.

Multiplay are saying:
HL2: Aftermath will put you back in the role of Gordon Freeman and let you experience the events following immediately after the end of the original game.

Who is correct?

I would take original game to mean Half life 2...

Yeah, as it refers to alyx , I'd take the origanal game to mean 'The game the addon is for'. Could be better worded though.

if we get to play as alyx... i presume you won't be able to play along side Gordan Freeman... Unless they model him also... :confused:
