MPUK News

The day has finally arrived! We can now reveal to you the winner of the i23 Coverage Competition 2005!

It was a close contest with the judges having to make a few very tough decisions, but we felt that the winning entry was head and shoulders above the rest and in the end didn't hesitate to choose it as the overall best entry.

And the winner is....

*** Peter Evans (AKA "Goots") of the [DG] clan ***

Peters entry was exactly what we were looking for on all accounts, well done Peter you've won yourself 2 tickets to a Multiplay LAN of your choice, any time in 2005! Check out his video by grabbing it off our FTP and re-live i23, fond memories and all.

One other entry impressed us with its depth and that was a written review by Shaun Russel (AKA "Blackreign"). Shaun gave a day-to-day account of his experiences at i23. It was also Shauns first i-Series event and so we thought it was refreshing to have the perspective of a newcomer to the community. Well done Shaun, didn't quite make it into first place but you get an honourable mention! Take a look at Shauns report below:

I'd just like to say well done to both Goots and Blackreign.

The video is brilliant, really good. Really well put together and made me grin.

The write up is very well written and also made me smile. I Like the photos and like the writing style.

Well done to both. More like this plz! :D

Wow that video kicked ass. Not only is it a brilliant competition entry, but it also
makes a refreshing change from seeing dodgy clan videos that only the people in the clan understand. Well played Goots!

Absolutely brilliant video. However, you will all die for videoing me in the bunny ears at the end :)

Really like the video... ESPECALLY the bit with Wizzo giving out 'over a thousand creme eggs'.

I remember when were offloading that huge stack of creme eggs off the van and wondering why we had them :P

Indeed, most enjoyable, well done to both of you. It's nice to see someone who doesn't seem to be hit by the 'shaky clan cam' virus ;)

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all of your nice comments about the video. I've never won anything before, and those tickets are most welcome :)

Can I just thank Elbonio for guidance, GeeDee for technical/ftp help, Wizzo for ...well...."having an idea for a lan party", and of course everyone who went to i23. Also must say thanks to the guys in [DG] for putting up with me over that weekend.

Wow I feel like someone making an oscar acceptance speech or something !

Anyhow, thanks again, and see you soon :D

-ps SayTen, I know who did the original of "Hush" but I won't spoil it for ya ;)

That's Wizzo, he's the chief p1mp, boss man, head honcho, big cheese, top rabbit etc....

He's the Godfather and all those with "MPUK Staff" on their backs are his minions, bred to do his bidding....

or something.

No competition this event, but dont let that stop you making a video

we're always interested in movies by the community so if you think you've made a decent one, let us know!

As for reviews, you can write a review of an event by going to our coverage section (http://www.multiplay.co.uk/covmenu.asp) and clicking on "add review" under the event you wish to review

The competition may return for i25, but you'll have to wait and see ;)
