That's right folks we're recruiting so that we can take the service we bring to the community to a whole new level.

The new team is going to be tight-knit, exciting and a lot of fun, if you're interested then click here for information on what we're looking for and how to apply

seems to be a funny way to recruit, as a trailer by itself isn't news. "developers released a new trailer for eagerly awaited duke nukem forever today, here it is" would be.

does this mean that MPUK is trying to make itself into a gaming news site? there are plenty of those already, and it would take a large effort to surpass those (good luck though). you could pull headlines from blue (www.bluesnews.com)'s RSS or similar, especially if you are repeating announcements such as "game X has a patch to version 1.4.326c".

seems a bit odd, is all.

most of the news we post is about new files we have hosted

of most of the news you want to post in the future is about patches and new versions of popular mods, why not just syndicate to a bigger site "news provided by... top ten stories...." just needs either an automated system or a person to routinely scour the sites. this would be donkey work and i doubt many would want the responsibility.

if you're looking for comentary (company X drops support for popular game Y, which is bloody appauling) then you might need a team of contributors, although IMO the forums handles this well enough (try and stop it), but might be unknown to someone not acquainted to them.

i guess i'm asking what is the goal? (more visitors to MPUK front page?) what will the front page gaming news consist of?

We're very comfortable with the goal we've set.

When you've joined the team you are joining the larger Multiplay online staff team and are eligible for all the privileges that come with this.

Can we get the priviledges in writing now? I'd consider maybe submitting something, but can you please be specific about the benefits.. other than just part of the MPUK team?

I'd consider reasonable entrance once a year to an I series as a spectator.. more than once would mean I'd have to pay, but a once a year entrance ticket would seem a fair swop.

(nearly) everyone is volunteer staff at Multiplay - we do our jobs because we enjoy it.

There are no "physical" benefits such as free entrance to events (unless you're working at the event obviously)

Being online staff is really about doing something you enjoy and being part of a fun-loving group of people.

Not only that but the point is that we're stepping up the pace here and aiming higher - now is the time to get on board. The way things are looking, when we get to where we're aiming for Multiplay might be in a better position to offer better rewards for online staff. I'm not saying it's going to happen i'm just saying it's possible.

For now however we're looking for people who are able to offer some of their time without too much compensation other than a few drinks at a LAN (Wizzo does look after the staff), being able to socialise with a great group of people at various staff meets through the year and being part of something special like Multiplay ;)

It'll also look good on a resumé of course :p

Hmm, without starting world flame war III what you intend is to maximise MPuk's exposure and profits but without actually paying the people who help you attain those heights.

Very simply put, I'll pass thanks, my time & experience was not free to gain nor is it free to maintain. I work 100 hours a week in the ciber with all the latest games which I have to pay for, I do spend some of that time at the till, and hence could if needed write on a regular basis.

But, as to something for nothing.. I'll pass..

lol dont worry you're not starting a flame war

As I said, it's volunteer work. If you dont feel you want to do volunteer work, don't apply

:)
