Although Microsoft first reported a problem with MSN Messenger's use of graphics formats back in Feburary, a new update for MSN Messenger 6.1 and 6.2 has appeared in relation to it.

So, if you are still using either of those versions, you can get the update below. However, if you are still using those versions of MSN Messenger, you might want to consider upgrading to version 7.0. It has been out for quite a while now and contains a large number of new features.

Its not to do with that... even someone setting a 'special' mini picture can be enough.

Not as annoyingly clever as gmail then, detects if the zip contains an exe and still won't let you send *sighs* renaming file extension's the way to go :p

You can get around that by using the patch on Mess.be also removes adverts and the annoying winks & nudges

I sent an MP3 file to a friend last night...

I know you definitely cannot send files without extensions (they're blocked and classed as 'dangerous files'), which is damn annoying as my girlfriend often forgets to add extensions to her files...

(OSX is obviously clever enough to read past an extension to work out what a file is... Windows is just retarded)
