If you read back about HL2 in the HL2 forumy bit, everyone seems to agree that there should be a HL3 or expansion pack
But don't go betting it will take too longer time, think about it, they don't need to make a new graphics engine, they don't need to model much new stuff (i think)
tbh - i think they make this deadline!
Anyway - can't wait,

You mean over rated in the sense that it met all expectations, then surpassed them and put the "competition" in its place?
Can't wait for this expansion/sequel. :D

All the people in here are scared that their rigs won't handle it...
Some guy set off a rumour it needs 1Gb ram, a 3.2Ghz processer and a v high end grfx card :/

Its v funny how they are all scared
lol

no, over rated as in feeling shallow, poor lvl design, uninspiring plot and ****e ending.
tbh i prefered D3 and FARCRY more then HL2.

I couldn't even be bothered with doom3...got quite far never finished it..the game and story never really drew me in.
HL2 on the other hand omg was I hooked playing 3 hours straight something I can't claim D3 ever did for me.
Sorry HL2 is a clear winner over D3...on story and level design. D3 was very samey where as HL2 was varied and fun.
Ending was a bit poor but really a good cliffhanger much like some movies and TV. I didn't see it as a too bad an ending and if not more entertaining than HL1 ending.

Half-Life 2 was so massively overhyped...
It had so many expectations levelled at it that it had no hope of even achieving them...
In the end it was just a nicely scripted if over long & often boring single player game with a few gimmicks, some that worked (the physics) & some that didn't (the awful sub-HL1 AI) & a whole sack of bugs that really shouldn't have been there after the delays...
Then they bolted on an immensely fun but stunted Deathmatch game & a flabby version of Counter Strike to attract people over from HL1...
I won't mention the bandwith/time wasting whore that is Steam, since its 2:30am & I want to get to sleep soon.
I still fail to see what bars have been raised apart from 'facial animation' & 'best integration of a physics manipulation device'...

Well, besides all the usual crowd bitching and whining about stuff (mainly you Optimus, lately you never have a good thing to say about anything you miserable prick) i for one welcome this expansion,Doom3 was okay but samey,HL2 was imho excellent APART from the obvious shortcomings in the ending, the game itself for me was varied and extremely fun,and the later lvl's offered a massive challenge to me,good game, crap ending, lets hope the expansion builds on and already good game :)

**** you you whore, I just didn't like HL2... For once I agree with Gunsmith that Doom 3 & Far Cry were easily superior games that just got drowned in HL2's needless overhyping...

not really, gameplay wise hl1 was the better FPS, hl2 was more ****ing about with the physics and drooling @ the nice GFX engine. The others are right too valve do take thier sweet time, however we were promised VAC2 and it came nearly on time... things may be looking up for us.

There are plenty of silly sods on the steam forums. Why would it require a highend gfx card and a 3.2 GHz cpu when the original game ran on a 1.5 Ghz amd and a 9600.
It's still the same bloody game and it'll still bore me to death. ;)

i wonder if we can kill/help those funny llooking slave workers? tbh, that could be a mocked screenshot made in the HL2 we all currently own (those emaciated human/robot things are walking around the citadel when you are being transported around in that cradle)...
I want to see some new content Valve :shakes fist:
