i am getting very angry at how crap clanforge is.

i update the server.cfg and IT RESETS ITSELF!! WHY?!

hostname "myhostname"
it resets back to
hostname $$name$$

the reason i do this is because the hostname isnt what i want it to be where you type server name in the form.

i have had problems with my server from day 1 and for the money im paying its absolutly pathetic.. and when i complain i get "well if u dont like it, go 2 another provider" off an admin!!!

all i wanna do is edit my server to how i want it!!

other problems:

* cant change map from dust2 (except to maps such as aztec/nuke/dust) without the server crashing
* cant put my own .cfg's in and call them from the server.
* everytime something goes wrong, i cant fix it myself, i have to go into the irc and get an admin to do it, which takes ages and is very irritating

bring by ftp access.. surely it cud be optional so those who prefer clanforge can keep it, whilst those who prefer FTP can use that!!!

To address your points one by one:

1. Why can't you change the server name in the profile? That is how it is supposed to be done. It's not supposed to be editted in the config itself. If you haven't got the unbranded option, your servername MUST have Multiplay.co.uk :: at the beginning as part of the contract

2. How are you changing maps? In game via rcon or within the profile?

3. You should be able to upload cfgs no problems and call them. They get added in the Configs section, not Files. remember when calling them to put your serverid in, so "rcon exec <serverid>/myconfig.cfg"

4. There is a history rollback feature on each profile. What exactly goes wrong?

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with Clanforge. As for the comment by an "admin", I'd like to say that we pride ourselves on our customer service, and shouldn't have received that comment from an admin. To clarify, employees of Multiplay UK are identified as ops in #mpukhosting and volunteers are voiced. Who was the admin in question?

The reason we have ClanForge is to stop problems with SSH/FTP and allow anyone to admin a server quickly and easily.

no friends, what problems have you had? What server do you rent from us?

that is my server. i renamed it "Multiplay.co.uk :: GK" last night in the profile and its changed back again.

i would like to cancel my subscription anyway, the server lease is until 22/04/05 so could i be refunded any money ive paid please.

i aint "demanding" anything. i wud like a server i can setup and configure myself without using clanforge or any other interface.... i cant have that so i wanna stop leasing the server.... its only right i get the amount from now till the end of lease back?
