have a small issue with 1 computer + router!

i have 4 computers running tought a netgear router.
about aweek ago every now and then we all would be kicked of the internet! ( we still had network ). we soon found out that as soon as one persific comp was turned on and loged on to the next that router then blocks us from then net! any ideas on what is happering or what i can do to stop this?

Are you using cable?

Are you using MAC spoofing on your router because you did have a PC directly connected but now are using the router?

If so, phone NTL/Telewest support and get the MAC changed.

i am using BT broadband,
i have been using the routher for about5/10 mouths now with out any broblems, then this one out of the blue! :(
have scan the gilty comp for virus, spyware etc and came up clean ?

Ah ok, it was a bit of a long shot anyway.

Have you tried simple stuff like changing the cable, port on the switch, things like that? Its most likely to be something really trival.

Have you enabled ICS on that PC also, or bridging or something else?

What happens to the lights on the router or on the NICs when you plug the problem PC in?

I don't know about NTL however Telwest no longer require you to submit you're MAC address.

NTL still do AFAIK. I don't use NTL but a friend does and I seem to remember him saying his is still fixed.

I'd say your mates got some serious ****e on his PC or something not configured correctly which is spaffing the network drowning it.
