With PCI-E (the new technology set to replace AGP as the interface standard for graphics cards) upon us, our silicon based friends are demanding more and more power.

Naturally something has to come along to give our machines that extra power PCI-E is going to demand. The Noisetaker PSU steps into this breach and provides the first PSU to allow for dual PCI-E. Being the first PSU to support SLi for the new interface, the latest Noisetaker model from Enermax has won a flurry of awards.

Packing a whopping 600W it's something to consider if you must have a computer so powerful it is capable of bending spoons.

Check out the press release (sic):

The highly anticipated ATX +12V ver 2.0 is finally here, for those who still live in a cave PCI-Express video card and CPU reaching near 4G require a new standard in power supply design. Dual +12V and more +12 Amps are a few of the changes from version 1.3. As always Enermax has always exceeded the Intel power supply design guide to give you more than you need.

The newest Noisetaker series 600W PSU come with dual 6 Pins PCI-Express connectors, SLi technology, for top end video cards and the smart fan function allows better heat dissipation after system shut down.

I can't quite understand why anyone would want SLi, surely just one gfx card is fine for everything?

There are people with FAR too much expendable cash and will spend another £300 quite happily to have teh l33test rig in the world.
