n-gage multiplayer

Hi, newbie here - thinking of getting a Nokia N-Gage, like the idea that it's a phone and game deck - also like the multiplayer idea but don't know much about it - anyone help?

Dont buy an N-GAUGE they are crap, this is a crap advert for Nokia who thinks its a great idea to spam random forums with newbies asking about the N-GAUGE. They oughter shoot the person who thought that brillant idea up, it has done them NO favours what-so-ever.

So tell me, what am I to do - I thought forums were for people to get together and exchange ideas and advice. If I've never been here before, do I have to spend all my life posting on topics that mean nothing to me, just so I can become a "veteran" member before I can actually ask a question?

If I have to conform to some sort of nerdy etiquette that only the chosen few know of then just tell me and I'll go somewhere else.

Otherwise, chill out.

OnMeEad sorry but you have to understand SO MANY similar posts from people over the past year or so has made us all cynical of anyone trying to promote an N-Gage. Really if you looked at the forums (and the site) you would see it's primarly aimed at PC multiplayer games. Consoles also feature, but handheld phone wannabe consoles features hardly at all.

So what prompted you to post a blantent advert for them? Especially considering there are other higher quality handheld consoles out there.

Want my advice?, avoid the N-Gauge like the plague their spam advertising methods stink. Nokia makes good phones, not games consoles.

edit:- Please note this forum is 'new to online gaming' which is something the N-Gauge cannot even do. So I stand by my original post... this is blatent Astroturfing..

Chaps, I understand your cynicism, but if you were to find a forum that you thought could answer a Q you had, what would you do?

Did you consider that perhaps Nokia's marketing strategy has had an effect on me? Maybe I would actually like to know something about the thing (scared to even say its name now). Thing is, I know all about the PSP and the DS, they are the hot cakes of the day, but I know nowt about the ngage and to date all I could find was nokia info, so I was trying to get an independent viewpoint.

But compare this.

If you are happy with a camera phone, over a proper digital camera then you would probably be happy with a n-gage over a psp or ds.

My mate has got a N-Gage and it just provide us even more reasons to take the piss out of him!

Now we're getting somewhere, some constructive comments. Cheers guys, this is useful. Ok, so it's not in the league of PSP etc, but what about the playability? naff or not?

thing is, I like the idea of the phone as part of it - I'm on public transport a lot and don't like the idea of carting loads of things around with me - I'll always need a phone and the game thing would be good for killing time.

Well a GBA SP has much better games, and a clamshell phone put together would be smaller - and a better phone too.

And of course the n-gage wouldn't fit in your pocket anyway!

The theory behind it is good. It just came out about 5 years too late.

DO NOT GET A N-GAGE!
I got one when they first came out and it was the biggest piece of Wa*k i ever did see, it froze every week and it ended up in a pint of Stella by xmas year b4 last, i had enough of it!
