You only really need to match the stepping, and if possible the batch. We've whacked second processors in a couple of Proliant servers at work we've found and they work fine. We've had a few oddities - one would stick at 20% on the second CPU, and another one won't boot FreeBSD (still not sussed that one!) but otherwise they are usually OK.

I can supply a pair of matched 400mhz p2's :-)

or a matched pair of 350mhz p2's
