I agree with Baz.. This is what happens when you have one game and you keep re-gurgitating it over and over again.. Team 17 ought to be careful they are doing the same with Worms :P

yes, because everybody rushed out to pirate tomb-raider 15 that's why their sales dropped

angel of darkness was rubbish - the fact they just kept making tomb raider games is probably thier main downfall.
but yes, Invisible war did suffer from piracy somewhat. It had such mixed reviews that few people went out an bought it.

TR1 was a great game - you cant turn away from the fact that it was a landmark game.
TR2 was also a very good game, i think it lacked something from the original but it was still good.
TR3 was the last TR game i bought and it was average
TR4 onwards have been poor
Angel of darkness was so bad that I took a screenshot of me uninstalling it:

you installed it? anyway, not to be harsh, but i hope this happens to any developer or publisher who turns out drivel. sadly i think it mostly happens to the good unique developers and publishers (black isle, looking glass, westwood, ion storm on a good day...)

It's a game so bad I got it free with my sound card lol.
Say_Ten
11th March 2005, 14:20
Does that make Doom 3 a game so bad because it comes with Graphics Cards?
Cheez
11th March 2005, 14:34
Yes, I'd agree with that. :)

11th March 2005, 14:54
shut up, just because you dont "get it" doesnt make it a bad game!
Mu5icMan
11th March 2005, 15:01
It's the other way around. The graphics cards were shipped with the game cause they were rubbish.

LOL, I've never played it. I just know it's not my kind of game. But it fitted the pattern, if it's bundled it's crap ;p
Elbonio
11th March 2005, 15:42
Does this mean that Star Trek: Elite Force is a bad game? It went through a phase of being bundled with *everything*
(it is a bad game btw - think Q3 with star trek models but done badly with a really stupid plot and thats about it...)
also don't forget Half-life 2 came with some ATI cards :p

doom 3 rocked
invisible war didnt
perhaps if they'd bundled invisible war with soundcards?
take heed developers - this is what happens when you release a PC game sequel prodominatly for consoles.

westwood... renegade... (going from rts to fps) clearly failed to "hit the spot".
Matt
11th March 2005, 16:24
Renegade had one superb thing about it which has never appeared in a game since.
That was the whole base area. (Okay it probably has but not in the popular games like Counterstrike, UT, Battlefield etc.)
The graphics, gameplay, the way you floated rather than walked etc. sucked big time.
But the idea of attacking the other base and once its destroyed its destroyed worked great.

you clearly missed UT2K4...
and Invisible War was pirated because it was released in the US like 5 months before Europe... recipe for disaster...

At the time the Tomb Raider games were making quite a bit of money for them, so why not?
I know it appears that they were short sighted in contiuning to milk the cash cow. Now that its come back to bite them.

problem being that the people buy the cash cows, year after year

Rengade did come out before savage dont forget...

Hmm I guess ut2k4 comes close to Rengade you couldn't go inside the buildings of that base tho and fight your way through to computer or power terminal.
I thought Rengade was a great game...some team is making a HL2 based on Rengade i believe so that could be good too.

13th March 2005, 15:38
i think making a new renegade like savage would be quite a big hit too
