well managed to fix it myself, just..

reset the dam thing, and went through it a line at a time, but still cannot get the ports open..

At least not the ones I need anyway to create an online server, for now its for games, but I am looking to the future to create my own webserver online, and then maybe even my own email server..

So what I am thinking is, maybe creating a complete lamer / noObie guide to releasing ports for ADSL modems, for F-wits like me, and others...

I will get home tonight and make a start on it, then if others could please rubbish what i have put and tell people how to do it properly then we can get rocking, :)

hey wizzo, in the FAQ, how about adding it so that people can do it themselves without messing it up? just a thought..

If anyone can read spanish there is an excellent site on doing this, http://www.adsl4ever.com which tells you everything you need to know, but my spanish isnt up to it yet :( anyone know a similar page in english?

I can help. I'm in UK and io think I can add a lot to your "Laamers guide to being l33t at ADSL".
Try
http://babel.altavista.com/translate.dyn?lp=es_en&doit=done&url=http://www.adsl4ever.com
and then hit the translate button. It works quite well, but isn't 100% accurate as i speak quite a bit of Spanish...

ICQ me on 74100903 m8 and we can chat...

Did you get email help eventualy?
I can probably get a technical translation but it will take a while (unless you want to pay for it?). There is a limit to the speed of the freebies that I can Extort.

:) No thanks smart monkey, a legal translation is a bit OTT.

Thanks Phiebs, thats a very useful little program bablefish., forgot all about it.

Anyway, a l33t lamers guide is a good idea I feel.

Covering stuff like, what is a filter?
How do i remove it.

I want to be able to run a server, but protect my files and folders etc etc..

how do i map a port for TCp, UDp, and what does it mean.

Nat, what is it, what does it do, and have I broken it?

and, how do i get more than 1 machine on the network, more than 1 server, and get an engineer to fix it in less than a month ?

usual stuff, was meant to do it last night, but discovered anotehr amazing cheap wine :) and got distracted ... :#
