And to top it off they've closed their forums due to the sheer amount of complaints and pissed off people out there making posts about the lack of sign up page ......
/me sighs and considers taking the game back...

I am totally on the same boat.
I reading people post on forums demanding some sort of echonomy fairness due to others being lvl 15 or something.
Thats way over my head he was on about but he sounded clever so I agreed.
LOL
I think what makes it worse for me that I never was intrested in this until bunch friends gagged on and on for me to play it.
So I give in and try and all this happens.
Oh well back to the dvds lol.

The problem was they said that everyone would lose their beta accounts so that everyone started on a level footing...but due to the sign up page being taken down alot of people are gonna be way over level 20 before others sign up......thats what has upset peeps.

True Kinda annoys me to be honest, was looking forward to everyone joining and everyone being equal to train togeather.
Now were be running around togeather with lvl 20's making me feel scared.

I beta tested both Everquest2 and WoW and found EQ2 to be much more... involving than WoW. Even though it was a Blizzard game it just was so lacking on atmosphere that i couldn't get into it. The good thing i found WoW had over EQ2 was that on the highest graphics settings it did run amazingly smoothly, although even the highest doesn't compare to the sheer preetyness on my midway settings on EQ2. Course things might've changed for the full release, so who knows :)
Although I'd hardly say I was a fair judge between the two as I absolutely love EQ2 :p:

Is the sign up page taken DOWN? or just over used at the moment?
So would it be worth just trying at like 3 am tonight?

From the WoW Forums ....
Due to the heavy load on the system, we are experiencing problems with Account Creation and are therefore forced to take those pages down temporarily. While the pages are down, those players who have already created an account can continue playing the game. We are investigating the situation and will come back to you with more information as soon as we have it.
They've taken them down to try and solve the problems they've been having, so unless they've fix the problem by 3am, you still won't be able to sign up.
We all just have to wait till they fixed it, and there's no ETA on when this will happen, which is damn annoying as I've been trying to sign up since 2pm this afternoon, when I received my copy of WoW through the post (and that's early for our postman, he doesn't usually do the morning round till 3 or 4 in the afternoon!).

Yea thats on news page too.
They said in forums be a few hours which was a few hours ago.
I guessing it won't be a full time fix tonight, very late where the Europe are situated.
I been trying to sign up since 11pm last night, excluding work from 9am to 4:30pm ;)

Its thoroughly dissapointed. After 2 launches could they not SEE this would happen?
This is a real black spot on their "launch day", though the more you think about it, you cant really call it a launch day............
Post if anyone manages to get on

Guessing this is most of your first mmorpg?
An mmorpg isn't an mmorpg unless there's a ****ed up launch day, it's tradition. Hell, no one could play SWG on launch day. I can't remember a major mmorpg that didn't have problems on launch day, and tbh, it's to be expected, especially for such a hugely anticipated game as WoW.

I suppose I expected it more to be lagged rather that not signup...I mean I brought my game late on Friday night and expected to not come accross signup issues that late in the day.
Anyway it was worth it in the end and was playing it until 4am hehe

Chances are, they'll probably do what they did for the US version when we had problems logging in and give people a few free days play as compensation.
There's never been a truly successful MMORPG launch, there's always some cock-up, but at least Blizzard have put their hands up and admitted it.

You're forgetting that EVERY major patch must go completely wrong. Whenever their is a major patch, the servers clearly have to stay down for 24+ hours (EQ2) or just be very buggy and required multiple further updates (CoH), or just close off the new zones until they actually fix it (PS).

Or, if you're playing SWG, do all of those, plus not fix the intended problem, create several new problems, all while the Devs say "yeah we just made a patch that lets you change the colour of your landspeeder, don't worry about the fact all the contents of your house and vendor have just disappeared". Sheesh!
